"Lots of authentic, historic charm. Our suite in Orchard House was wonderfully roomy. Comfy bed. Housekeeping is iffy - the coffeemaker had not been cleaned from prior occupants. Too bad there is no coffee service at all in the mornings, not even a machine or carafe in the lobby. The "coffee shop" is woefully inadequate and isn't even open most days. I like the place, though, and would stay again. Just have to adjust my expectations."

"This was the highlight of our trip. Such nice people there on staff. We enjoyed wonderful accommodations and conversation. Also saw beautiful deer in the backyard!!! Will certainly stay again!!"

"Easy access, room and bath cleans and all the resource was running well but dec26 the coffee machine at breakfast room was out off order and were not available brown bread and only one fruit , apple. Otherwise it was according as expected."

"This was a perfect spot for us. We walked to dinner and breakfast; was close to the McDonald Observatory, and had so much charm. It would also be great for a family. There was a fun game area that, if we’d had more time, would have been good entertainment. Don’t hesitate to book here. "

"The cottage was perfect for our stay. It was comfortable and very cute. Location was convenient if you plan to go to the observatory."

"We stayed here on our way out from Austin to Balmorhea Springs. We got there late and got graced with one of the starriest skies I've ever seen and spotted more meteors than I'd ever seen! Woke up to a gorgeous mountain view, and was sad to drive off... until I got to the the Springs, of course. Highly recommended! Would love to return."

"The location was great - very close to the fort and the Main Street area. The home is huge. The pictures on the listing don’t show just how large the space really is. It was great for our family of 6 - four kids ages 10-12. It was so nice having a large kitchen to prepare meals and a laundry room to keep up with the vacation fun. When we arrived there was a lock box on the AC and the inside temperature was in the mid 80s - we had to message the host to set it on her end but there seemed to be...

"This is such a lovely property! So peaceful on the patio in the mornings and evenings. Getting to pet the owner's horses was a bonus, too! Super fast communication for any needs from the host. Split bedrooms make it perfect for couples. Close to the main street in town but still 'away'. Highly recommend for a trip to Ft. Davis!"

"Property was as advertised. Very nice home. Communication with owner was outstanding. Be aware that you are on an unpaved road and it is one of the nicest properties on the street. Worked great for two couples Good location for both Fort Davis and Davis Mountain State Park. "
