"Lots of authentic, historic charm. Our suite in Orchard House was wonderfully roomy. Comfy bed. Housekeeping is iffy - the coffeemaker had not been cleaned from prior occupants. Too bad there is no coffee service at all in the mornings, not even a machine or carafe in the lobby. The "coffee shop" is woefully inadequate and isn't even open most days. I like the place, though, and would stay again. Just have to adjust my expectations."

"A beautiful and quaint bed and breakfast, run by exceptional owners, Nancy and Bill, who are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was terrific. The accommodations were attractive, comfortable, clean, and quiet. The property is located a very short distance out of town, and it's a great spot for star gazing. "

"We stayed here on our way out from Austin to Balmorhea Springs. We got there late and got graced with one of the starriest skies I've ever seen and spotted more meteors than I'd ever seen! Woke up to a gorgeous mountain view, and was sad to drive off... until I got to the the Springs, of course. Highly recommended! Would love to return."

"It was helpful to have a full kitchen. Not many restaurants open. This is an old house and west Texas is dry and dusty, so expect a little dust. However the house could have been a little cleaner, cobwebs evident. Bring your own bath soap and shampoo if needed. "

"Highly recommend! Fossil+Folk is an excellent base to explore west Texas in every direction. Adventure and natural beauty abound! The golden leaves of the cottonwoods in fall are unforgettable. We had a problem checking in, but once that was taken care of it was smooth sailing. (A reminder to ourselves to always touch base with owners proactively 24 hours in advance.) Mark's home is so beautifully decorated in a Southwest/Mexican motif that we felt like we were in a hacienda. We discovered...

"The cabin was perfect. Close to town but far enough away to feel like you were out in the middle of nowhere. Cabin was clean and stocked with everything one would need. Had water dripping that enticed birds to come to drink. Could sit in screened in porch to watch the birds. The only thing that would have made it better is if they had a king size bed in the cabin. "

"We loved spending our stay here. It was the perfect size for us for a few days. The exterior space for dark sky viewing was splendid. We truly enjoyed the coziness of the tiny house and trying out the various on- and off-grid services. I thought the bed would be too soft, but it was a dream. We would definitely stay here again. "

"The location was great - very close to the fort and the Main Street area. The home is huge. The pictures on the listing don’t show just how large the space really is. It was great for our family of 6 - four kids ages 10-12. It was so nice having a large kitchen to prepare meals and a laundry room to keep up with the vacation fun.
