Although there is a fenced-in parking pad in the back of the house that can fit two small cars, it’s a convenient .7-mile walk to the waterfront. We found it to be an easy walk, considering that parking is at a premium in the area. "We stayed here for 2 weeks. We've stayed in a number of the converted basement units that are common in the area, and it was really nice to be above ground and have lots of light from the many windows. The place was spotless and the host was very responsive. Furniture was comfortable, kitchen was well outfitted although the place isn't really suitable for doing any extensive cooking; the small 2-burner cooktop can't fit more than one large pan at once, and the under-counter oven isn't the most...

There was plenty of space in this home and it had everything we needed. The location was great for touring around Alexandria and it was a short walk to the Metro to spend time in DC. While the neighborhood is not picture perfect, the area is safe and a few blocks from where restaurants have moved into warehouse space. Location is walkable to the convention center and other points of interest . I would stay there again."
