"Really a great change from the Kona beach experience. The Jungalow is really comfortable and well equipped. My family and I really felt at home, and loved the cool, misty mornings with the chickens and pheasants in the front yard adding a comical touch to morning coffee. I'm sorry we didn't stay a few extra days just to hang around the property. The neighborhood is great, my teenager is trying to get me to move here!"

The kitchen is well appointed as is the open design living and dining room. Having access to a full size washer and dryer is a huge bonus given the amount of rain on this side of the island. "The gecko is definitely more updated than its nextdoor neighbor. Both were spotless. However both are in dire need of new loveseats, or at least do a serious deep cleaning of these. The bed was very comfortable, which is amazing considering how bad my back is! The location was perfect for us because our forever home is in lower Ocean View. But for tourist it would be the perfect half way point between Hilo & Kona. And Pinapple the cat is adorable!"

"The house is well priced, in a quiet neighborhood, and close to Volcano National Park. The property manager was helpful and responsive to an early check-in when our flight came in. I do think that attention to detail with cleaning needs to be a priority as there were dirty mugs in the cabinets, a "clean" wash cloth hanging in the bathroom that had what I assume was a blood stain on it, and stains on the fabric of the dining room chairs from food and beverage."

"what we liked: everything... starting with location it was quiet and peaceful. the property was well maintained, all the essentials were stocked sufficiently. Host was a message away, prompt response. Sitting outside at the porch with the rain pouring was the one of the highlight. Volcano National Park is less than 10 minutes away.
