Quiet, breathtaking views
We got so lucky to have a full week of perfect weather in late October. It was dead silent on the bay and the beach was mostly empty; a pair of herons were constantly in view from the windows and the porch. We managed to find good places to eat and explore even though it was off season, I imagine next time we'll try and catch the boardwalk when more things are open...but we were perfectly happy to appreciate prime Hook either way it was really really pleasant

Review
The 9.8 Exceptional rating was misleading. This was not an exceptional property. I was a bit disappointed. Several lightbulbs were burned and therefore the kitchen was dark, the bedroom side light was out, the screened porch had no light. There was a gas grill but no fuel. There was a washer and dryer with dryer sheets but no laundry detergent. Pillow cushions on porch and sofa were stained. White deck furniture was pretty dirty. The kitchen was not well equipped.

Relaxing with beautiful views
Lovely house, nice walking areas with gorgeous views of the waterways in the wildlife preserve. Breathtaking sunsets! Nicely furnished with plenty of equipment, towels etc. We loved the porch. Heaven forbid....did not find a corkscrew to open wine, but we always travel with one.

Wonderful Getaway
This house is in a lovely location overlooking a wetland and easy bay beach access. It was peaceful in late Sept, minus the annoyance of mosquitos (bring bug spray). The house was clean, kitchen well equipped, outdoor seating for watching wildlife/birds and space to park the car. We loved it.

Beautiful beach community
This is a gem of an area. Natural beauty everywhere, quiet and never crowded. House was perfect for a getaway. Close to the beach we everything you need. Highly recommend!!

Great, quiet house in a quiet beach community
Prime Hook itself is a bit off the beaten path, which is good for a quiet week away. 5 minute walk to the beach, beautiful sunrises and sunsets! The house was clean and perfect for what we needed. Good enough space for two adults and a toddler. We probably could have had another toddler aged child there, beyond that it would start to feel a bit small. Heads up: bring a healthy amount of bug spray in the summer, the mosquitos outside the house are aggressive! Overall, it was a great place and it was exactly as advertised!

Where tranquility and nature meet
The house was very clean, tidy yet inviting. A quick walk to the beach. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets! Our dog loved it! The outdoor shower was super appreciated. The views from our room and deck were picturesque! It’s very remote, and maybe not for everyone, but we thought it was perfect!

Quiet, refreshed and super clean!
In a quiet neighborhood, this darling cottage backs up to the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge and has a short walk to an uncrowded bay beach. The cottage is spotless and newly remodeled. Coastal decorations in white and blue with natural wood accents throughout. The screened porch and deck were favorite spots during our 7 day stay; morning coffee and evening sunsets with bird watching over the refuge. Kris was a very responsive host and the house was perfectly as pictured.

Peaceful Escape
Cozy beach house with beautiful view! Saw fox, eagle, and many species of birds. Nicely decorated in light colors. I love that i could see the nature preserve and water from the small window in the shower! The bay and beach is a short walk, a few minutes away. Nice roomy deck and enclosed porch offered lovely evening breezes. Wonderful sunset from the deck every night. A quiet area with friendly neighbors.

Relax with nature
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Prime Hook Beach and the areas nearby. The rental served as an ideal home base, offering a serene and delightful setting that made it easy to both explore the local sights and unwind. Nice Getaway
The cottage is in a nice and quiet neighborhood where the beach is just a short walk away. From the deck of the house you can see Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. If you are a bird watcher or nature lover this is the palace to be. We saw several birds daily - eagles, osprey, egrets,herons,gulls, sandpipers, and sanderlings - just to name a few. The weather cooperated and the sunsets over the refuge were quite beautiful. It is a short drive to Lewes or Milton for dinner, shopping, or hiking/ biking at Cape Henlopen State Park. Enjoyed sitting on the screened porch later in the evenings. This was a nice getaway from our daily routines and we enjoyed our time here.

Relaxing beach vacation
The house is in great condition, has everything we needed, perfect for a family of four. The view from the deck is breathtaking and the sunsets are mesmerizing. We couldn't stop taking pictures with every change in light throughout the day. We enjoyed evenings on the screened porch. The beach was a 5 minute walk. One minor set back for our kids was the water quality- less clear, no waves, which was expected for the bay area. We ended up driving to Rehoboth beach a few times, which is quite a trip through traffic.

Cute Beach Cottage
Very cute cozy beach cottage. Nicely decorated. It had everything we needed for the week. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and also a short drive to have dinner in Lewes or Milton. The view of Prime Hook Nature Preserve is beautiful especially at sunset.

Wonderful Beach Hideaway
A perfect little hideaway! Beautifully renovated, well-stocked, super close to the beach and all that the surrounding area has to offer. We enjoyed exploring the nearby towns, spending time at the beaches and nearby parks, and closing out the day on the porch listening to the birds and crickets sing. Our host, Kris is amazing! Extremely helpful and kind. And a special shout-out to Kris's niece, Ally. Ally - You Rock! Thank you again for coming to our rescue during our stay. We appreciate you both! We look forward to coming back.

Overall nice, with some caveats
Beautiful location in Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge with gorgeous views, peace and quiet, stunning sunsets. Newly remodeled and done well. Good place to really get away from the world. Down side: overwhelming mosquitoes. Not sure if it is different at different times of the year but late June was awful. House has nice screened in porch but mosquitoes get in there so often not a comfortable place to sit. Bring your bug repellent. Walkable (2 blocks) to Prime Hook beach, which was pretty and a nice getaway from the bugs. But the seaweed gave off an unpleasant odor. Overall nice place in theory, but maybe I went at the wrong time of year.
