Woof. Worst 5 star stay ever

Letā€™s start with the good. Lovely neighborhood and location. Everything was very clean as well which was nice. However the beds were the worst nights sleep Iā€™ve had in years. We both ended up sleeping on the couch bc the beds hurt our backs badly after one night. They are 1/2 inch old spring mattresses with no box springs. So if youā€™re cool with spending all this money but suffering through the night go for it. We left one night early bc the beds were that bad. Also the tv is one of the original smart tvs from 8 years ago, so no apps work. Literally none.

Monrovia in the rain

Had a 4 night 3+ day stay in Monrovia and wouldn't you know it - it rained over 2 of the days. We went to the Holocaust Exhibit at the Reagan Museum. Both a must see. Took in the Diamond District in downtown LA in the rain - VERY interesting. (Don't miss the restaurants in the alley!). Monrovia a delightful town (even in the rain). Many restaurants near to enjoy and VON's within walking distance. Walked the Melrose Shopping area (not to be advised). Drove around the Rose Bowl which was very nice. Since it rained so much we would have appreciated a rug inside the entry door to our VRBO. We cleaned up our arrival mess as best we could. VRBO was the main floor of an old, quaint house but was near to what we wanted and yet away from main LA. Any communication with property manager was addressed within minutes.

Nice spot, walking distance to very nice Downtown Monrovia

Clean, as described & host is a very good communicator. We were here for the Rose Parade in Pasadena, and it was an ideal spot. Close enough, and the 210 freeway is not overcrowded. Monrovia was a delight, with great restaurants in walking distance.

Good spot if you're in Monrovia

We were visiting friends who lived in a nearby neighborhood, and it was very convenient. Property was clean, but the floor could use more regular wet mopping and the shower handle needs to be replaced or repaired (it worked, but it was so loose it was difficult to control the water temp). We had what we needed and we enjoyed our stay. Also a plus: The taco stand directly across the street, La Nori, was EXCELLENT. For real. And there's a Von's grocery a block away, so easy shopping. I would definitely stay here again when we come back.

Great stay in Momrovia

What a great stay in Monrovia! Unit is tucked away behind a retail storefront, but once inside you wouldnā€™t know the difference. Parking was onsite and easy to get in and out of. Living space was spacious as was both bedrooms. Kitchen was supplied with everything we needed. Bathroom was stocked with towels. The ā€œstep downā€ mentioned in other reviews was not a problem once you knew it was there. Host was quick to respond to our need for additional washcloths. In fact, she showed up within 20 minutes of my request. Would suggest a carpet at the entry way. We happened to catch a rainy few days in Southern California which made the floor sloppy and slippery. Host was very kind to our request for a late checkout due to the fact we were in Pasadena for the Tournament of Roses parade and not sure how long it would take to get back. House was convenient to Old Town, however we were not able to take advantage of that due to the all day rain the one day we had planned to shop. Only negative was the charge for additional people over 2. If unit sleeps 4 you shouldnā€™t have to pay for a 3rd person. I could see if you had 5 or 6 people. We were already paying for a 2 bedroom unit and had to pay $15 a night more for a 3rd person. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for travel to Pasadena. Train station is only a few minutes away and then only a 15 ride into Pasadena.

Great option

My parents and brother stayed here over the Thanksgiving break. It's really near downtown Monrovia and super convenient off Foothill. I live in the Pasadena area and I thought this was good value compared to many hotels and rentals.

Nice flat in a convenient location

We enjoyed our stay at Foothills Villa. There was plenty of space for my wife and I. The bedrooms and living space were comfortable. Great location, very close to the old downtown area and quite walkable. Monrovia is a nice city to stay in.

Not the best place for seniors

Itā€™s a beautiful place but not senior friendly. No handrail on front steps. You have to step down to enter bathroom - had to keep light on at night so we wouldnā€™t fall. Have to step up in closet. Just not safe for people with disabilities. But a beautiful space. And the location is fabulous. Convenient to Old Town.

Lovely place in a Safe neighborhood. Home was clean and had all the essentials needed to have a meal, shower and most important (for me at least) washer/dryer. The owner was easy to reach and very kind. Highly recommend.

Quick visit

Our family of 5 adults (2 couples, 1 single) were in the area to visit my elderly parents near LA ā€¦ chose this property based on combination of area, rates, reviews, distance to parentsā€™ apartment, and time we would spend at the property (essentially sleeping, showering, quick breakfast, etc). The location of this property is ideal for being close to many shops, main highway, some hiking, etc. I didnā€™t notice any disturbing noise from traffic or upstairs that others describedā€¦ I would say noise similar to most hotel environments. Allan, the owner, was very kind and professional, and super quick to respond to any questions or needs we had- SO very appreciated!! This property sufficiently met our needs for a quick trip to visit family. A big thank you to Allan and his wife!

Extras in Monrovia

We appreciated the extras for our long term stay in this apt: bedrooms and closets are large, plenty of hangars and storage space, desks for work stations, full-sized shampoo, etc were stocked in bathroom, which has a great hot and powerful shower. Another plus was the large smart TV. We brought our Roku to access more stations. Allan is a friendly host, who responded to any questions quickly. Two things to be aware of: some of the furniture has been changed out, so itā€™s not exactly as pictured. Also, this is a downstairs unit, so movement can be heard in the unit overhead.

Great Weekend Getaway

Nice homely apartment in quiet suburb.

My family of four enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was clean and tidy and had all the amenities required. The location is great if you want to see more of LA than Hollywood. We were fortunate enough to find ourselves there on a Friday night which is when they have a community market in the main street. Well worth checking out.
