Spend your vacation in this welcoming, super cute, sunny cottage just a few houses up from La Jolla Boulevard, and just a short walk (2 blocks!) to picturesque Windansea Beach. Gather at sunsets with the family and other beachgoers to submerge yourself in the joys of Windansea!

This spacious home that sleeps six (6) in beds comfortably is also a great option for anyone who wishes to spend the winter months in a warmer climate in a beautiful seaside community. Walk up the serene, tree-lined brick sidewalk of this home and when you open the door you will find yourself in a sunny great room with lots of large windows, making it feel light, bright, and airy. The living room area has lots of comfortable cluster seating from which everyone can watch the large flat screen TV. A ceiling fan, for your comfort, is also a wonderful extra. Next to the living room is a desk space for remote working and a 4-seat dining table with a kitchen breakfast bar for two. The nearby kitchen that has everything you need to satisfy your culinary desires, just add the food and camaraderie and have fun.

The primary queen bedroom also has a ceiling fan, a large closet, and an updated ensuite bath. Down the hallway, the middle bedroom has two twin beds, perfect for kids, with the second queen bedroom, with AC and a large closet, plus front of house views. The expansive private backyard features a large seating area for the whole family, a firepit, large turf area for kids and pups to play, and a lounge area with fruit trees for the picking! This home comfortably sleeps a maximum of 6 people in beds.

There is also a second full shared bathroom off the hallway and all bed, and bathrooms are furnished with an ample supply of premiere linens for your ultimate comfort.

This home is in an ideal location, close to both the beach and all the shops, museums, and restaurants of La Jolla Village. This little slice of paradise never fails to delight with the shimmering Pacific and the ever-changing colors of the evening sky just two of the surprises that will enhance your stay on the beautiful Southern California coastline. You will likely create beautiful memories here, and who knows, you might decide to return to experience all the magic again.

You are a short ride to Scripps Aquarium, the La Jolla Shore Beach, and freeway access so it is easy to find lots of places to visit such as The San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Balboa Park and so much more!

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK:
NO smoking is allowed inside or outside any of our properties - NO EXCEPTIONS! This includes cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, and vaping.
Two dogs (2) are allowed per stay. Pet fees of $225/pet are due and the pet must be disclosed. Sorry, no cats allowed. Dogs must be well behaved and barking or disturbance is not allowed. Deposit forfeitures and/or evictions are strictly enforced. Please make sure you are comfortable with these policies before renting.
There is a mini split HVAC units in the home for your comfort, free of charge.
This home has a maximum occupancy of 6 guests at any time and can sleep up to 6 in beds.

This home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is only suitable for quieter groups. Our rental agreement includes a no tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties. Deposit forfeitures and/or evictions are strictly enforced. Please make sure you are comfortable with these policies before renting. This house is solar powered and solar system must remain on at all times. This home is equipped with exterior surveillance as required by local city noise ordinance.

All occupants must be 25 or older unless children are accompanied by parents.
Photo ID and Credit Card photo verification required to complete booking. We do not accept American Express and Discover.
San Diego Vacation Rentals Cancellation Policy, Age Policy and Pet Fee Policy supersedes the policies of VRBO and Airbnb.

Our cancellation policy will allow you to cancel your reservation up to 60 days prior to your arrival. There is a $300 cancellation fee. If you cancel your reservation within 60 days of your arrival, there are NO REFUNDS. If you feel that this may cause an issue with your travel itinerary and availability, please consider Travel Insurance.

We stayed in this property once before. However, we do not recall the bed in the master suite being so awful. The mattress is shot. We ended up laying on top of each other in the middle of the bed because the mattress is severely sunk in the middle. The pillows are awful too. I suspect they have some kind of protective plastic cover under the pillow case, which makes it like sleeping on a big zip lock baggie. I ended up on the couch several nights, but the couch is NOT comfortable to sleep on. Lack of sleep had a very real negative impact on our vacation. Overall, the property isn't bad. But if you plan on sleeping in the master bedroom, you may want to reconsider - and at the very least, bring your own bedding.

Lovely property
We really enjoyed our time at this property. Walking distance to the beach and to restaurants. The Taco Stand was amazing and the Flower Pot Cafe had the best coffee we’ve ever had. Backyard was relaxing. There was a lot if construction close by but that us temporary.

Great property, average interaction with management
Home was great, completely matched how it was advertised. I have only 2 issues with our stay. Number one, the door lock code that was given to us was wrong when we got there. After some back and forth with Vacasa, we ended up getting the right code. Number two, each bathroom was supposed to come with 2 rolls of toilet paper but only one of them actually did. After some back and forth with Vacasa they promised to deliver an extra roll, but never did. So we had to buy extra rolls ourselves. I got the impression that the person on the other end of the help line did not really know the property very well, which is probably what contributed to those issues.

Better than the pictures and great location
This home was better in person and great back yard. Close to the beach and we were able to walk to downtown for brunch, shopping and dinner when we stayed in the area. A little trouble getting into the home(needed more instruction in directions that were sent to us) but didn't take too long after reaching Vacasa. Only other incident would be the ants that got into one of the suitcases in the middle bedroom. Luggage racks for the smaller bedrooms would be good to keep luggage off the floor. That may help. All in all, would recommend this place.

Lovely back yard
We sat out in the backyard every morning next to the fire pit and drank our lattes. It is a very pretty back yard. The only problem was dealing with Vacasa. They couldn't give us the right code to get in the house until after 6pm. Vacasa did not fill up the propane tanks which were empty until the next day. Vacasa entered our house without our knowledge to put a sign in the window. Vacasa never had the landscapers show up which they were supposed to come on Wednesday and to close all the windows up and they never came. I like the house but not Vacasa.

Nice spot.
Very convenient location to beaches, colleges and downtown San Diego. Loved the backyard, was nice having BBQ, heaters, fireplace and extra propane. House was very comfortable, slept well in beds, well-stocked kitchen, w/d in garage. Nice having room to park 2 cars. Would stay here again.

Cozy home near the beach but lots of little flaws
The house itself is lovely. There's plenty of room for group of 4 adults and it's decorated with a cozy vibe. Plus, the walk to the gorgeous beach was short and easy. Unfortunately, there were lots of little not-so-great things that prevent me from giving the property a higher rating. 1- The code for the door lock didn't work so we had to call to get a code that did work. Not the end of the world, right? But we had just driven 10 hours, needed to use the bathroom, and had to stand in the dark on the porch until the property manager could help us. 2- I specifically chose the house for the awesome yard. However, my dog couldn't really enjoy it much due to the fact that the bordering yards had dogs who liked to bark. This meant mine wanted to bark back, but there's a strict noise policy that I was afraid that we would break so my dog didn't spend that much time outside. This was a huge bummer. 3- By the end of day 3, there wasn't enough toilet paper in the front bathroom. The was only one extra roll in the whole house. 4- The queen bed in the front room was assembled poorly. Every time my son moved or turned while he slept, it would make the headboard bang against the wall which would wake him up. It was so bad that he decided to cut his trip short and head home after 3 days. 5- The twin bed in the middle room was so uncomfortable that I personally woke up dozens of times every night because my back ached. 6- The grill stopped working on Christmas Day with our food on it. While they attempted to come out with a new tank of gas within a couple of hours, it was too late for our food. My question– Why not keep an extra tank on hand? People like to grill especially when the temps are close to 80 degrees. 7- The kitchen wasn't well equipped with the extras– salt and pepper, sugar, etc. 8- The check out time in the info folder in the house said 11am but the actual time was 10am. An hour is significant on the last day as you're packing out and cleaning up. As you can see, there were lots of little things that made our stay not the best. While I said, I loved the house itself and its location, I'm not sure that I would stay again.

Excellent location, adequate for six but dining table seats 4. Kitchen well equipped but no hot pads or mitts, mixer did not work, ants almost everyday. Tile in kitchen tired. Nice yard and seating with fire pit, outside table for six, 2 heaters. But would consider staying next year if a few things are tweaked.

The floor was dirty and ants were EVERYWHERE - in the kitchen on the floor and counters and table, in the living room on the sofas and floor and tables, in the bedrooms on the beds and floors. YUCK!! We had to kill ants and spray as soon as we got there then open all the windows and doors to air it out!!! There is no way the cleaning people don't know this. There is no way the people who stayed before us didn't know this. I would never rent here again!!!

Good location to the beach and restaurants. The outdoor living space is an added bonus. The house is clean and spacious. The description and pictures are accurate. The property is managed through a company. There is no contact with the owner.

A great SD beach getaway
This beach house is 3-4 blocks to the Windansea beach, which was one of the best beaches we went to repeatedly on our trip. We met the owner, who is great and kind, and he was taking good care of his trees, foliage/flora. The house was great for us, family of 4 plus my mom. The kids shared the cute middle room, and they had loads of fun in the great backyard. There are 2 gas heaters back there, too, which helped take the chill off on a couple days. The driveway parking for 2 cars was wonderful. There are beach towels provided as well as some beach chairs and toys. We love to cook and the kitchen is well stocked. We also walked to many restaurants, etc. within a half mile, and Warwick's bookstore just 1 mile. The property manager is SeaBreeze, and they were just ok. They don't provide coffee grinders, so if you are aficionados, bring your own or buy one and take it home with you. We encountered a leak under the kitchen sink one morning, called to have them help, and didn't hear anything all day. In the evening, I called again and 2 hours later at dinnertime their plumber came. I felt bad for him as we were trying to prep food and eat around him. Also, we are big on recycling, so we separated everything out and placed it in the proper bin outside; then, a property manager came to put the garbage cans out on the street and dumped everything we had in the recycle can into the trash! So, I hope they can get that figured out. Maybe it is just the current state of affairs on recycling, but they didn't tell us not to bother. FYI they provide only a few packets of laundry detergent, then you have to have your own HE detergent. They also provided some, but very perfumed, stinky kitchen trash bag refills. Overall, it is a great little house in a lovely and fun area. The yards and flora are beautiful, and the house a good size for 5-6 people. We would go back!

A nice older style house in very good condition and a convenient location. Although the weather was not cooperative in terms of it raining and being quite cold, one could imagine that the outdoor area would have been great in less inclement conditions. The description provided on VRBO was accurate, and I have nothing negative to say about this property. Well worth considering if you’re looking to stay in this area.

Beautiful getaway
The property is located walking distance to the beach. Our family of 4 enjoyed the house, especially the backyard. My 2 year old had plenty of room to run around and have fun. Well located on quiet street.
Our 10 day stay at Westbourne Ave was satisfactory. The house has all the basic amenities and is well located on a quiet street near Windandsea Beach. There is off street parking and a garden at the rear of the property. We had a few "first world" problems that could not be solved by the management company. The internet is slow by 2019 standards, the back garden was full of leaves and the bed in the master bedroom needs an upgrade. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.

Charming, comfortable, convenient!
The house was very comfortable for our family vacation. The master bedroom is spacious and private at the back of the house. We enjoyed sightseeing in San Diego and my sons tried surfing at La Jolla Shores. Windandsea beach was too challenging for them as newbies! Rental scooters were available right outside the house which was convenient for my sons. Down La Jolla was a mile away. We drove in and easily found parking. We enjoyed brunch at The Cottage and dinner at Prep Kitchen. The driveway was tight for two cars. but we were able to find parking on the block. If I were to do it again I might have considered a house near La Jolla Shores as my sons would have surfed every day. The beach is also really nice there. We used the kitchen mainly for breakfast, I enjoyed morning coffee in the garden. The house was a welcome respite after busy days!

Great spot for a family vacation!
Our family of 4 stayed here for a week in March 2018. We have 2 small children (ages 2 and 4) and it was perfect for us. The house had plenty of room for us as each child had their own room; and the living room had a nice sitting area and TV for us to relax in once the kids were asleep. The backyard is a big plus. We enjoyed sitting out back while the kids played; and were able to BBQ a few times during our stay. The location is also great. The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes. The nearby beach was never busy while we were there. If you have small kids I recommend bringing a stroller for the walk as the road to the beach has a fair bit of incline. We also walked to the main part of La Jolla (where all the major restaurants and shops are, as well as the grocery store); that is about a 10-15 minute walk. The house has a driveway which is also very convenient as parking can be challenging at times in the area. The house is on a quiet street as well; we found it was nice and quiet in the evenings. Overall the property seems to be clean and well kept. The property manager (Barbie) was awesome to deal with and responsive to anything we needed. The house has a lot of character to it and we were very happy with it. We will definitely be back in the future!

Great location
We shared two weeks with our son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. We couldn't ask for a better location to the beach, restaurants and assistance from the property manager, Barbie. The kids loved to play soccer in the yard and just run around.
