Napper by Rottenberg is a charming boutique hotel located just a 5-minute drive from the Hotel Nacional de Cuba or about a 30-minute walk if you prefer exploring the city on foot. Set in a beautifully preserved colonial house, the hotel offers history and comfort.
The hotel is situated in the Vedado neighborhood, an area to explore for those interested in seeing beautiful homes in Havana. It's relatively close to the Malecón and offers a more tranquil atmosphere compared to the city center, where I stayed initially. Vedado is also home to restaurants, cinemas, and bars, making it a vibrant yet peaceful neighborhood. Nearby attractions include the Plaza de la Revolución, a museum dedicated to Fidel Castro, and the University of Havana, all within easy reach.
The staff is welcoming and well-informed, happy to engage in conversations about Cuba and Havana, making it a great place to learn more about the local culture and history.
The breakfast was delightful, featuring fresh bread, eggs made to order, seasonal fruits, coffee, tea, and jam. It felt like a simple but high-quality start to the day.
The colonial-style house also boasts a bar and a terrace, which is good for enjoying a Cuban cigar while soaking in the ambiance.
