"Overall everything was good, our only issue was after being there for a few days we noticed the toaster was full of crumbs, obviously not been emptied for quite some time, and the oven tray had not been cleaned after it had been used. "A lovely welcome to a lovely, remote Old Mill house..! The place is beautiful but needs a little TLC which works are being carried out now. The room was OK, big enough but a very cold bathroom - no heat in there at all.. The bed was old & creaky but clean & we slept OK. Tea & Coffee in the room. Bar area and breakfast was first class - always served with a smile. Open fire in bar area made it very cosy. We would stay again. Would love to see the place a little busier which I'm sure it will be...

"Really enjoyed my time here, mostly peaceful, food good and left alone as needed privacy. Lovely pub and surroundings. Only gripes would be loud music until 2.00am in the morning one of nights I was there, but I guess this comes with staying in a pub. Also nasty smell in shower/toilet room, Maybe a problem with water pipes. Sort of like a dirty drain smell. Shame as the rest of my experience was great."

"Lovely room. We were in Thyme. Small but very comfortable for a couple of nights. Very handy for Beamish museum. "Enjoyed our stay my only criticism would be we were not in the main hotel and had a view of the car park. We had to cross over the carpark for breakfast so if it was raining could really spoil your breakfast vibe. The room also had very poor lighting so was very hard to read at night and in the day. "
