Come stay at the charming Deer Ridge Cabin, a tranquil and secluded retreat nestled amidst the scenic forest with enchanting views of Columbine Lake peeking through the trees. Situated a mere 1 mile from Purgatory/Durango Mountain Resort, this cabin offers a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy dining area, a convenient washer and dryer, a gas grill, and cable TV to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. During the winter months, you can bask in the warmth of a crackling wood stove while admiring the serene snowfall through the expansive front window. The main level of the cabin features a welcoming living room with a Queen sofa sleeper, a well-appointed kitchen and dining area, and a full bath. Ascend to the charming lofted bedroom on the upper level, where you'll find a comfortable Queen bed, a Full bed, and a Twin Foldaway, as well as a TV to ensure a restful and entertaining stay.

This home is dog friendly. Approved Dogs are allowed with a non-refundable fee per pet based on size/type. Please let us know about your pet(s) when inquiring or making your reservation. Additional restrictions apply including crating and leashing. Please inquire if needed for more details ahead of booking.

4 wheel drive with snow tires or chains is required in winter - No Exceptions.

Great mountain getaway
Accurate information about the property, comfortable accommodations, great location. Great for traveling with dogs. No issues with the cabin and provisions. Property management outstanding with helping us out, going above and beyond when needed. No window shades or covers but secluded enough to not be a big concern. Hope we’ll have the opportunity to stay here again.

Snow Days
The cabin felt secluded and remote even though it was within a short distance to Durango and Silverton. WiFi was excellent, allowing me to do some quick work. We loved the big open windows to watch the snowstorm during our stay. Our only problem was finding the road where the cabin was located. This may be easier with less snow. I recommend staying here.

Beautiful cabin really close to purgatory ! Cozy and practical !
We loved our few days ! We had great family time ! I stayed with my husband and 12/13/14 year old teens ! The accommodations were good ! Two cot beds could use a thicker mattress ! For kids teens it’s ok ! We lived the proximity to the ski resort :) and enjoyed our stay ! Thanks

Location was great,. Not sure why there were no window covering on any of the windows. Thankful the cabin was remote but still had a couple cars drive by.

Purgatory
Cabin was clean. It was one big room. Living quarters and bathroom downstairs. The bedroom was a loft with several beds in it. If we were not by ourselves, hopefully we would be with REALLY good friends, because of one sleeping area. There was no porch to sit on and enjoy the outdoors. Only a tent with two plastic chairs

Quiet Secluded Cabin
The cabin was nestled in on the ridge of a mountain up in Purgatory! We saw lots of wildlife and the weather was perfect, lows in 50s and highs in upper 60s. The cabin was very cozy and had everything!! We would definitely stay there again!!!

Beautiful property in a beautiful location
This home was perfect for us (two adults) and our two dogs. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked each night of our stay. The furnishings are basic and comfortable. The WiFi works surprisingly well given the remote location. And there are plenty of trails around for hiking. This place is even better than it looks in the pictures. We highly recommend it.

Had a great time. Close to lake. Convenient - right next to Purgatory easy drives to Durango and Silverton. Also easy to get to Telluride and Ouray from here. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks.

Weekend get away
This was a lovely get away cabin in the woods. Very close to the lake so bring mosquito spray!! Very well stocked kitchen and gorgeous views. The stars at night were spectacular. You’ll get your steps in since master bedroom is upstairs and only bathroom is downstairs. Great location! An enjoyable stay!

No window coverings, poor lighting in some areas, only allow a roll and half of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towels, and was there 4 days and only allowed to use 1 towel the whole time. Can keep fish from lake either was not told this. No were to throw your trash away dumpster was locked up. Up stairs is very hot had too keep windows open to keep down stairs warm. Will not rent agin...

Great break in the mountains
We had a wonderful week away in the mountains! It was great to unwind, watch the wildlife and enjoy the area. We had fun watching a doe and her twin fawns right behind the cabin a couple of days. What a beautiful area!!

Beautiful area and very cozy cabin! Queen bed is comfortable, a twin would be a great addition since the cot springs sag, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the area! Perfect location to travel to other areas outside of Durango

Review of Deer Ridge
We really enjoyed the delightful cabin. It is well-stocked and equipped, and quite comfortable. The decorations, amenities, and furnishings are great. We had surprisingly good internet service, and the Dish TV worked great. We were unable to get the heater in the wall to come on, but it was not really needed. Also, one of the track lights in the living area would not come on, or we could not find the switch. I was waiting for a return call about that from the property manager but never got the call. The main concern was the lack of window covering or blinds over the giant picture window facing the road. There was no privacy, and we did see a man walking down the road at night in front of the cabin. Also, it is difficult to cool the cabin down in the middle of the day with no covering from the sun on the window. But we definitely enjoyed our time here in a beautiful part of the planet!

Little Cabin in the Woods
My family (husband, two teenage boys, my sister, my dad and three dogs) all stayed in this cabin for three nights. It was comfortable and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked with all you need to cook and prepare food. We love Silverton and this was close by. We really liked the privacy. We’ve stayed in condos at ski resort, but this house was so cool because of the privacy and the ability to drive right up to it. We couldn’t fish in the lake because I couldn’t see a place to fish from the shore. The lake is catch and release with no barbed hooks. We really did enjoy our short little trip here.
