"Our room was clean and tidy on arrival, few paint chips noticed around the room, especially in bathroom and on bathroom door, these are easily fixed and should be done prior to any guests arrival. More pillows should be available if needed, as my partner felt two were not sufficient to accommodate her sleep. TV in room had infrequent digital reception and the remote control does not allow full access to all of the TV, the TV itself is also very dated and does not have internet access...

"I booked this break for my wife's big birthday. We stayed for 2 nights on B&B basis. The hotel looked very festive when we arrived as all the Christmas trees had been put up and decorated. The reception area looked lovely. We had a quick, smooth check-in and were advised of opening times for dining and the spa facility. "Lovely historic building, with stylish and welcoming interiors in all rooms and a lovely roaring fire in the reception area. Lots of nice comfy sofas and seating areas. Bedroom was very comfortable, nicely decorated, the en suite was modern and well maintained. Dinner menu was delicious, with attentive and curteous waiting on tables. Breakfast was also exemplary. We only stayed for one night but would happily have stayed longer if we could. "
