"We only stayed one night over NYE due to its proximity to the event we were at so we didn’t use the hotel’s facilities. The staff were very friendly at reception and in the restaurant where breakfast was served. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. The hotel room itself was clean and fine for our requirements but it was definitely in need of updating."

"Pas de sanitaire individuel. Salle de bains et wc pour 4 chambres... literie très moyenne. Moquette sol tachée. Ne mérite pas les 3 étoiles. Au moment du séjour, travaux au 2ème étage.. donc bruit à partir de 9 h. Hôtel vétuste. Quant au petit déjeuner rien d’extraordinaire. On paye surtout le fait que ce soit ds un quartier résidentiel. Lion du centre ville.bref, a côté de la maison de V.Hugo , petit hôtel 2 étoiles avec jardin peu et tarifs corrects. ( Le palomina)"

"I stayed at La Fregate over the new year period and was looked after impeccably. The room was beautifully clean and the outlook over Saint Peter Port was stunning. The room service was prompt and all staff members were consistently helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious and had me looking forward to breakfast each morning! "Everything was perfect except the bedroom was unbearably hot. Could not turn off bathroom heating or open window beyond 10cms (appreciate health and safety issues), so ended up with fan on all night. Rather negates other excellent environmental measures..fresh milk in jugs so no plastic, opportunity to reuse towels etc. "

"Fabulous hotel, lovely staff regardless of their role at the hotel. Conveniently 10 minutes taxi ride from airport. Room was outstanding and the shower/bathroom to die for. Gorgeous food, ate at hotel on three evenings and enjoyed the fresh fish on each occasion. Portions are big and it would be difficult to find better prepared food elsewhere on the Island. (We dined at the award winning La Nautique Restaurant on the 4th evening and it was on a par with that produced at La Barbarie) No.81 bust...
