Getting Around:
We recommend renting your own car to enjoy The Bird House. In winter an all wheel drive or 4x4 or car with great snow tires is recommended.
When going to Red Rocks or the Airport arranging alternate transportation there is necessary from all areas in Conifer. - Uber and Lyft are ok for the ride home but difficult to get a pick up at the house.

➢ VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
*4WD RECOMEMDED NOV-APRIL* - AWD is great year-round. In winter storms, 4x4 vehicles with good snow tires are needed. Roads and driveway are plowed, but not on a set schedule, so plan ahead.
➢ NO FIRES OR SMOKING
Wildfire is a major risk here. No smoking allowed anywhere on the property. Outdoor fires are limited to the gas grill and gas fireplace provided only.
➢ QUIET SANCTUARY
This is a quiet peaceful sanctuary for our neighbors. Please observe quiet hours of 8am to 9pm and refrain from speakers for outdoor music or loud noise at all times.
➢ AIR CONDITIONING
Like most mountain homes in Colorado, the house doesn't have AC. However there is a portable AC and swamp cooler available upon request. In Conifer, CO, cool mountain air and high elevation keep temps comfortable, rarely exceeding 85°F. Use fans and open windows at night, then close up in the morning to stay cool all day.
➢ WILD ANIMALS
Wild animals like bears, moose, deer, elk, and mountain lions frequent the area. DO NOT LEAVE FOOD OR TRASH OUTSIDE.
➢ HIGH ALTITUDE
The house is at 8,500 feet elevation. Stay hydrated, limit alcohol, and allow time to adjust. Oxygen cans can help with acclimation and symptoms.
➢ TECHNOLOGY LIMITATIONS: We have amazing high speed Starlink Internet – providing the best internet in our area with normal speeds of around 47 Mbps. Some cell service providers are spotty, switch to wifi calling if needed.
