"Had a delightful week long stay at the Ambleside Townhouse. Room was spacious and comfortable, breakfast was basic but sufficient and from the cooked menu they would provide breakfast how you wanted it, with swaps and omissions if need be. They catered well for my husband who is gluten intolerant. Lots of restaurants and pubs within a short stroll, we tried a different one for dinner each night. "To start off, I didn’t get a code to get into the property, couldn’t get into the room So trying numerous times to get in contact with owners was impossible and even hotel.com couldn’t get in contact We set off to the property to see if we could speak to anybody, and we spoke to a woman who managed to get the codes for us Great room, great bath Just to service was terrible and the staff wasn’t that helpful "

"Absolutely loved our stay at Melrose Guest House, fantastic location, it was spotlessly clean, breakfast was amazing, and nothing was too much trouble! We wanted to run the local Parkrun, and weren’t going to be available during breakfast times, so a breakfast tray was organised for us to enjoy later in the morning when we got back. Will definitely stay again if we return to the area. "

"Lovely guest house located more or less centrally between the town centre and lake Windemere with just a few minutes walk to either. The standard of accommodation was first class and the service equally as good. We were in a standard double room on the second floor with Velux windows allowing great views to the front. The road at the front of the guest house is busy and noisy at times particularly with the windows open. "

"had a lovely stay at the Waterwheel with my husband - an excellent guest-house right in the centre of Ambleside, but still quiet and peaceful. Our room was clean and comfortable with some nice touches such as homemade flapjacks and a glass of port. the service was fantastic and were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. a parking permit for the local car park was also a great bonus. we will definitely stay again next time we are in the Lakes"

"We had a get together with family who haven’t seen each other in several years. The house was perfect for us as it had plenty of space, lots of bedrooms/bathrooms, making it a very comfortable stay even with a large group. The communication with the property manager was great! "We had an absolutely fabulous stay at the cedars. Too much to write to will do a bullet point review. Pros - location is so wonderful.
