Luxury Private Villa with amazing snorkel and Exclusive Jungle Gym

Casa Caleta is a unique Luxurious Villa located in an exclusive gated community in Akumal, surrounded by a jungle setting and on the shores of the stunning Yalku Lagoon which is a unique natural aquarium. By day, its rooftop deck with pergola provides beautiful views of the Caribbean, the lagoon, and the soothing jungle. At night, your gaze will move upwards to the starry sky From the moment you arrive at this retreat you are welcomed with warm Mexican hospitality. Every whim and desire is satisfied. Your stay can be as pampered as you wish and you can be ensured that it will be a memorable one.

Rooms

The first bedroom offers two queen beds, a sitting area, and an ensuite bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub. The master bedroom has a king bed, sitting area, and large ensuite bathroom that accesses its own private outdoor Jacuzzi. The children's bedroom is great for the young at heart. With two queen beds and 6 single beds, there are plenty of beds and the kids will want to take turns sleeping in the specially designed bunk-style beds. This room has an ensuite bathroom with two showers.
The fourth guest suite offers a king bed (can be two singles) and two queen beds, as well as a private bathroom with a Bali-style shower.

Garden & Pool

While there is no doubt that the interior of this home is gorgeous and made for groups, the outdoor areas are what will keep your family entertained. The terrace is covered by an impressive palapa with a massive circular dining table seating 12. Step into the large blue-tiled pool surrounded by tropical foliage or lounge poolside while enjoying your favorite beach read. The chefs of the group will delight in the gas BBQ grill with bar which is the ideal place to hang out with a margarita while freshly caught seafood is being grilled by you or by the staff! The large green lawn can be set up with games such as volleyball, soccer, football, and many more. When you are ready to snorkel and swim, walk the groomed path to Yalku Lagoon. As you would have direct access you can experience snorkeling just after sunrise. An unforgettable experience! The best-kept secret about the property is it has its very own "private in-ground cenote" in the backyard to swim whenever you want.

Indoor

The indoor dining area has seating for twelve and the fully equipped kitchen with high-end appliances will satisfy even the most discerning chefs. The glass hallway with a tropical garden view leads to the four air-conditioned bedrooms that feature luxurious en-suite bathrooms with stone fixtures. The glass air-conditioned atrium leading to each bedroom brings the feel of tropical gardens inside without compromising any comfort.
The interior of the home spans nearly 10,000 square feet of living space and recreational area. Upon entering, you are greeted by the expansive open plan living area, decorated in creams and whites with natural stone and wooden accents, just off which lies a den with a flat-screen TV and surround sound stereo.

Services

To insure that guests feel taken care of, the villa includes maintenance and housekeeping services in the form of a sweet couple who live in a separate home at the entrance of the property.

Location

The town of Akumal is 20 minutes between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, and 1 hour from Cancun Airport. Casa Caleta has been the vacation destination of several known celebrities due to its incredibly private location, impeccable hospitality, and secure community. And the Town of Akumal hosts a wide range of exquisite restaurants, yoga, dive shops, spa, art festivals, and other convenient amenities. You can capture the essence of Mayan Riviera at any of the world-famous outdoor Parks; Xel’ha, Xplore, Xcaret, and Xenses all are minutes from Akumal. Nearby Cenotes, ancient ruins, and charming towns that make great day trips. However you spend your days indulging in the therapeutic Riviera sun, you are sure to appreciate the comfort and resplendence offered at Casa Caleta!

This home is perfect for vacations, yoga workshops, and corporate retreats. Will surely be a blast for friends and families alike.

Concierge
Our concierge can help you arrange anything you wish for a party, transportation, COVID Testing, spa services, like the genie in the bottle you wish, and he grants.

Accommodation
Casa Caleta accommodates up to eighteen guests, with a maximum of six children. Rates are based on 12 guests, add $50.00 per person per night over base occupancy of 12 guests, and toddlers under the age of 2 stay free.

*Max occupancy is 18 adults/children.


Food
During your stay Casa Caleta offers complimentary cook service for breakfasts provided by “Isidro” should you wish from Monday through Saturday (guests pay the cost of groceries and $25 dollars for shopping fee and transportation for the cook to go shopping.
Chef service for lunch and/or dinner can be arranged too. The service fee for this is $7.00 dollars per person for lunch and $10.00 for dinner; kids 5 and under are free. You pay for groceries. We can provide pre-stocking as well. Your reservation also includes complimentary daily housekeeping (Monday to Saturday) and purified drinking water (Tap water is not safe to drink).
This is a "family style" service. Everybody eats the same meal.

Jungle Gym
What about working out in the middle of the Jungle and then taking a dip on the Cenote that is next to it, once in a lifetime experience.
*We are not responsible for any accident or injury caused by the use of the equipment.

House Keeping
There is daily housekeeping by “Leo”.

House Personal is available from Monday to Saturday. Sunday can be booked in advance for an extra fee.

Water
Please be conscious of water use.

Electricity
Sometimes we have intermittent electric power, especially due to weather conditions.


AC
We have AC in all bedrooms, kitchen, and living areas, we kindly ask you to be mindful of its use. Please make sure all doors are closed (including bathroom doors) before turning them on. Be aware comfort temperature is 24ºC or 75ºF.
AC will be turned OFF if the guest is not in the area.


Laundry
If you wish to have a laundry service, we can arrange for it to be collected; please notice it will be done in a local laundry and will be self-paid. Casa Caleta is not responsible for any damage.

Animals
Since we are in the middle of the jungle we have many wild animals around; sea turtles, crabs, raccoons, squirrels, birds, geckos, bees and so, please be respectful of them.

Gratuities
They do appreciate gratuities from our guests. That goes directly to their families.

Beautiful, relaxing hideaway
We were stunned by the beauty inside and out. Well maintained and comfortable. The short walk to the lagoon was well marked and easy to follow. Snorkeling there was one of our favorite activities. It was farther to town than we had anticipated, and as we had 16 in our family group, it was a challenge to get around, but we quickly learned to use the local taxis and buses. The on-site personnel were quiet, unobtrusive, friendly and professional. We requested that they cook several dinners for us and the garlic shrimp they prepared was especially delicious. Overall, we felt quite spoiled in such a luxurious and spacious home with ample sleeping and bathroom facilities, all very well air-conditioned. Highly recommended!

Once in a lifetime!
Discovering this place was incredible! Our group of 18 friends and family gathered here to celebrate our dual 30th birthdays, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. Karla, our host, was an absolute gem—she graciously allowed us to check in early and was incredibly accommodating with all our requests throughout our stay. The culinary skills of Yesidro, his wife, and their son Israel were beyond exceptional. They treated us to mouthwatering meals, including chilaquiles, ceviche, and lobster. They also made sure the house was clean and beautiful each day and helped arrange transport. Their hospitality truly made our celebration exceptional. The property's location felt almost surreal—nestled within walking distance were two private cenotes, offering us a serene and intimate connection with nature. Additionally, the nearby lagoon was a paradise for snorkeling. During our explorations, we were fortunate to witness an array of wildlife including birds, stingrays, eels, a sea turtle, and even an agoti - truly mesmerizing experiences. The house and its surroundings were breathtaking, complemented by efficient air conditioning that ensured our comfort. Karla's constant availability through WhatsApp, coupled with the unwavering assistance from her and Yesidro in arranging anything we needed, made our stay effortless and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an exceptional getaway!

Amazing Location, Beautiful House, Had Issues
Good: The home is spacious and a great fit for a group. The grounds are unique and amazing from the private access to the lagoon to the on-grounds cenote! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to enjoy drinks and meals at the house. Isidro and his family (caretakers) were a joy and took great care of us. We loved their help in making the grocery run and cooking for us. The food was good, though a tad bland to us. But that's to be expected because we're from New Orleans. We loved the stock of beach towels, fins, and snorkel gear to enjoy the lagoon and cenote. The location is fantastic. Central to Playa del Carmen, Akumal, and Tulum. Bad: House is in need of attention and maintenance. AC in the main areas of the house didn't work for 2 out of the 6.5 days of our trip. Two days of not being able to congregate as a group without miserable heat (it was 95 outside). We didn't have hot water for two days of our stay. The rooftop deck that is eloquently described in the description was not useable. It was full of trash, ladders and maintenance equipment, benches in need of attention, and...a huge, broken hot tub. Key kept getting stuck in the door so house was often not secure. I get that it was impossible to get an AC repair person out on the weekend; however, for a house at this price point, I was shocked that the host was unwilling to work with us to make it right (she offered $10 per person). Many of us saved for a year for this trip.

Bachelor Party Paradise
House was amazing! Had 12 guys for a bachelor party and the location was perfect. The shuttle service they set you up with was awesome they had a van to take us to everything while we were there. Akumal is nearby with great restaurants and beach access. The private lagoon out back for snorkeling was perfect for relaxing and getting in the ocean without having the leave the property. Highly recommend!

Loved our Stay!
I came to akumal with my fiance, and two of my girlfriends with their families with children ranging in ages 1 - 7. 11 of us total. We absolutely loved our stay. Everyone was so kind and made our stay so convenient. The property is gorgeous surrounded my beautiful personal cenotes. The kids loved it and didnt want to leave. A perfect family vacation

Incredible Property and Staff!
Karla's home in Akumal is beyond words. I stayed here with a group of 12 friends for my Bachelorette trip, we all were so comfortable and had an incredible time. We all felt like we were at a private resort. Isidro and his family were so welcoming, easy to work with and cooked amazing food. His son even went up into the palm trees and cut 12 coconuts for us to drink/eat, it was surreal! The house was beautiful, and so much bigger than the photos can show. The top deck had stunning views for sunsets and the "jungle gym", yard and pool were also outstanding. The house has a private cenote which had huge iguanas sunbathing and the Yal-ku Cenote Laguna is a 60 second walk down a path directly in the backyard which had beautiful neon blue fish; you can swim across and rent snorkel gear! Karla's connection to the driving company with Arnoldo was also so amazing. Lenny, our main driver, was so sweet and helpful. We all felt so safe while driving around Tulum to see the cenotes and going into town at night for dancing. I cannot recommend this property enough. I would love to go back and stay here again in the future. Thank you Karla, Isidro, Arnoldo & Lenny!

Amazingly Spacious and Safe Bungalow with Full Staff and All you Could Ever Need!
Had the greatest time celebrating our friend’s bachelorette here — Karla is super helpful and attentive and gave me the contact info for a driver to use throughout the weekend. She also coordinated with Isidro to get all the groceries, etc. for the group and to ensure we were fed. All at a super affordable price point (14 total of us)! ¡Muchísimas gracias a todos en Casa Caleta — os extrañamos mucho!

MUST STAY!!
Karla and Isidro were amazing! Karla was extremely easy to communicate with and helped my group of friends with transportation, setting up reservations, grocery shopping and being available 24/7. Isidro was extremely friendly, helpful and is also an amazing cook! The property it self was peaceful and quite with so much to do such as the jungle gym in the backyard and the cenote for snorkeling. The house is very space full and everything inside the house worked amazing. I would stay at Kayla’s residence over and over again. 30 minute taxi to the beaches wasn’t an issue either as the taxi service is very affordable if you are going with a group of friends. I would recommend Karla’s house 10/10 times!

The property is wonderful and being able to snorkel the lagoon each day was amazing. the pool and accommodations are clean and well maintained. Isidore is always around and willing to help. If any thing went wrong our concerns were met and addressed and resolved. this place is great for a large group and there are multiple places to spread out. Beautiful house with access to a lagoon for snorkeling. Very quiet neighborhood, but not so close (walking distance) to a lot of things. We decided to use the cooking service because of that. Food was very good for our large party. Isidro was very accommodating and helpful. Would definitely come back.

Gorgeous Home
The property is amazing! We felt like kings & queens the way Isidro catered to us. Him & his wife are fabulous cooks and always were on top of asking if we needed anything. They always made sure we had clean shower & pool/beach towels for our adventures in the cenotes & beaches. We were here for 7 days w/10 adults for Thanksgiving and we all had more then enough space to relax in the middle of what felt like the jungle. Would recommend this home. The only down side was alot of the beds were very firm and a few of us slept on the couches, but over all we loved it

Amazing trip
My friends and I stayed here for my bachelorette and our trip was absolutely incredible. This house is spectacular and spotless !!! Karla the property manager was always available via WhatsApp and promptly responded to any questions I had. She was incredibly helpful. Isidro (the chef) and his family were lovely and the food was to die for. Our group paid additional fee for a driver and he was very punctual and nice. I would absolutely recommend this property !! I’m definitely coming back with my family :)

Wonderful getaway
We had 13 people between the ages of 10 and 74. This home fit us all very comfortably, with room for several more. Isidro and his family were amazing! And the food! So, so good. Karla, the manager, was incredibly responsive and offered many resources to make our visit a success. We got away from the snow at home and spent a week in a tropical paradise. We were already planning our return before we left.

Beautiful property
Beautiful house with the most accommodating and helpful property staff. A little far from tulum and the taxis are very expensive to go back and forth but the house itself was a little slice of paradise. The breakfast they cooked every morning was delicious and they did a grocery store run for us before we arrived which was very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a relaxing vacation with a house big enough to accommodate 10+ people to stay here.

We just stayed a few days at Casa Caleta to celebrate our 57th anniversary with our children and their spouses. It was lovely! The home and grounds are amazing! We especially enjoyed the private access to Yul Kul Lagoon so we could enjoy the wonderful snorkeling! Isidro and his wife prepared a wonderful breakfast for us every morning and they prepared a evening meal the last night we were there. We all had a wonderful time and would love to go back again!!

Wow! Casa Caleta and its property are beautiful! For our family, they may have been the highlight of our whole trip. The majority of our stay was beyond our hopes and expectations. Isidro and the staff were very accomodating (though we were very grateful to have some fluent Spanish-speakers in our group as communication may have been difficult otherwise). The meals he prepared were delicious and we all miss Isidro's daily guacamole, warm smile, and exuberant personality. The jungle gym was a big hit, the hammocks were divine, and you can't beat having private access to Yalku Lagoon, where snorkeling before or after the crowds is supreme! The location also put us in reasonable proximity for our private tours of ancient ruins in Ek Balam and Chichen Itza and was just a short drive to the beautiful beaches of Tulum. We loved our experience and would definitely return to Casa Caleta (though next time, we will come better prepared with insect repellent)!

Holiday in Paradise
Just concluded a week at Casa Caleta with 13 family members. The house is a amazing. Isidero and Leo were gracious and helpful ghosts who worked hard to ensure we had a relaxing ave fun time. We ended up having them prepare a number of meals which were all phenomenal. The location of the house is wonderful and provided the kids and grandparents with easy access to Yal Ku lagoon for snorkeling and day trips to Tulum, Akumal, and cenotes. If there was a thing to be aware of it works be that transport can be challenging/expensive given the large size of our group. That said I would definitely still come again.

This place was perfect for our large group. It had plenty of space and was absolutely beautiful. The jungle gym was so cool--(it did however have a big broken mirror). The only complaint about the property itself was that the sheets on the beds and blankets were not the cleanest. A lot of the blankets had stains all over them and we found some critters throughout the house (is to be expected though being in that area though). A couple of things I'd be aware of if you decide that you want chef Isrido that you can reserve with the home. We decided to preplan our meals since there were 15 of us so we didn't have to worry about it once we got there. Make sure you put the quantity of food/drinks you are looking to have (portions as well). He can run to the store if you are in need of something but when we sent him to the store to pick up extra things, he didn't return for almost 6 hours and we were left starving. Also, we found it odd that any left over food after meals disappeared and we never had ANY snacks in between meals. One morning, we had pancakes and Isrido had an entire box of mix. We each got one tiny pancake for breakfast, but the whole box was gone after we finished. Also Isrido does not speak ANY English so if you don't speak Spanish, it is very hard to communicate with him while you are there. The last day we wanted to add a 2nd meal because one of our excursions was shorter than expected and he wouldn't do that even though there was enough food for 2.

The property was amazing! Other than a few unwelcome creepy crawler everything was perfect. Isidro and the house staff were at our service and then host Karla was always there to assist with any questions or concerns right away! For many of us this was our first trip to Mexico and I will say it was one for the memory books!

Misleading booking process
A few months ago (January 2021) we were looking to book a property with enough room for 20 people, we were excited when we found this one and we booked it and make what we thought was the final payment. On 7/24 , one day before our vacation started , I got a message from Karla (the house owner and administrator) saying that I need it to pay an extra fee because I exceeded it the maximum allowed people to stay in the house. I explained to her that we booked for 20 people and I even sent her a screen shot of my final reservation showing proof of that, I also told her that it was not ok to let me know of any extra fee one day before our vacation started specially when she saw my reservation months ago and knew how many people were coming. She responded it with a bad attitude saying that was not her problem and that I had two options: either I pay the extra fee or cancel my booking with a full refund. Obviously, I did not have any choice but to pay since I was notified one day prior of our vacation start date, like it would be easy to find hotel rooms or another house for 20 people in one day. By the way, the extra fee was over $ 1100. At the same time, after the third day our stayed started, the AC for 3 of the rooms stopped working. IT took them two days to fix them. Rooms were too hot and made it difficult to sleep for those two nights. As far as the house, it is a beautiful property and Isidro, and his family were very helpful, and they are a wonderful family. I have no complaints it all towards Isidro and his beautiful family.
