Family & Pet Friendly House Within Walking Distance Of Restaurant’s

This is the perfect location to stay whenever your visiting Wilmington, N.C.

NO SMOKERS PLEASE

We have 2 bedrooms with (1) queen size bed and (1) room with two full beds (bunks) available to rent on weekend, weekly, monthly rate in our furnished house located in monkey junction area of Wilmington, N.C. This is a perfect location that is 10 minutes to downtown historic Wilmington, N.C. and the river walk, restaurants, bars and theaters . We are 10 to 15 minutes from Kure Beach, Wrightsville Beach, and Carolina Beach. This house is 10 minutes from Wilmington, N.C. airport (ILM) and we are 8 minutes from UNCW.

These 2 bedrooms are both located in a single story house with two full bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances and a grill is provided outside. Kitchen also has Keurig coffee maker, microwave, toaster & toaster oven. There is a fenced in back yard and a driveway for safe parking. No more than 2 people per room are allowed. No more than 4/5 people at any one time is allowed. No smoking is allowed inside but there is a porch out back with lawn furniture. Full size washer and dryer. There are three TV's in the house with Spectrum TV (with 145 channels) and free Spectrum WIFI. Two Kayaks are provided free with accessories. The owner owns a cleaning business and her husband is a handyman and both reside in Wilmington.

Within walking distance is one of the best restaurant's in all of Wilmington, N.C. called Rucker Johns and a 24 hour IHOP, Islands Fresh Mex Grill and Chow Thai. Within a 2-3 minute drive is a Walgreens, Walmart, Lowes Foods, Sawmill Restaurant, Harris Teeter, Tequila Comida and Cantina, Cook Out, Cape Fear Seafood, Slainte Irish Pub, Buffalo Wild Wings, Mad Katz Bar & Lounge (Billiards), Staples, a local Post Office, Lowes, Home Depot, and many other terrific stores & eateries. There are 5 fantastic concert venues in Wilmington, NC. To see the current bands coming to town check out whatsonwilmington

A Few Reminders
• This is Your Monkey Junction House, but it’s our home too, so please treat it like you are staying at a friend’s house. We ask that you please:
do not move furniture around.
do not remove any items from the house.
keep all sliding glass doors and windows closed when the AC is running.
don’t take bath towels to the beach.
have a GREAT time while you’re here . . . you’re at the beach!!!
• If something breaks or is broken, no worries. But please let us know ASAP. We want all our guests to enjoy a fantastic experience. Our handyman is ready to repair most anything, anytime.

Trash
• Trash and recycles are collected every Thursday morning.
• Due to guest check-in/check-out timing, this means when you arrive there will be waste in the cans from the prior guests.
• Please take a moment on Wednesday afternoon to wheel carts to the curb for pick up. Once collected, please move carts back up the driveway.

Check out is at 10am and your keyless entry code will expire at this time.
• Your housekeepers will be arriving then to prepare the home for our next guests.
• The home should be left relatively clean. If excessive cleaning is required to prepare for our next guests, this additional cleaning fee will be deducted from your security deposit.
• Please gather all towels and bathmats and place them near the washer/dryer.
• Please do not remove duvet covers, shams or mattress pads unless soiled.
• Please place all dishes in the dishwasher and start a load when you leave. If any items don’t fit, please hand wash, dry and return to cabinets.
• Please remove all personal food items from the refrigerator/freezer and cupboard space upon your departure (please leave baking soda in fridge/freezer, thanks!)
• Please place all trash and recycles in the can outside when you leave.

Very nice and clean property. We loved everything about it and would definitely stay here again. There were only two things that surprised us. First, there was no coffee in the house, we had to go get our own Kcups for the Kurig which needed to be cleaned thoroughly, it had old brown water sitting in the reservoir. This surprised us because every place we’ve ever stayed has always had coffee available. Second, we ran out of Kleenex. There were only a couple left in the box when we arrived. Otherwise the place is perfect.

Beautiful house within 15 mins of wilmington and carolina beach, we were expecting something much smaller for the price but it turned out to be an excellent value with a fenced in back yard for the pups, has many different restaurants within walking distance

We had a nice stay. House is nice in a nice neighborhood. As described. It would have been nice to have a starter coffee for us. Some issues: no WiFi the entire time. Communication was non existent from owners. We asked questions, got no reply. Checkout was at 10am. Maids showed up at 9:30am.

Avoid at all cost
We stayed at this property over Thanksgiving. We do not recommend this place: The couch has a strong odor, as well as the blankets provided to cover the couch. We had to go out and buy our own towels since the towels provided are so dirty they are gray (supposed to be white). We also saw that there is no difference between the bath towels and the dog towels so if you stay here definitely bring your own. The grass in the front and back yard is also very long and has not been mowed in sometime so makes it impossible for kids to play outside. We had an uneventful stay and end up leaving a day early. After our departure, the owners attempted to tell us that the highchair had a tear in it, and it was our responsibility. This like many fixtures in the house was very old, and it felt like they were attempting to get us to pay for items we hardly touched , let alone damaged. Please be aware that when booking this property, there is high likelihood that they will attempt to get you to pay for an old item in the house, claiming damage to old outdated items. If you do stay here make sure to take pictures or video of the whole house before and prior to your departure! We have stayed at multiple rentals over the years and if we had really damaged something we wouldn't have a problem paying for it. But it is completely unfair to try to make us responsible for something we didn't damage.

Ironman triathlon stay
We came to Wilmington for a triathlon and found this place. Close to race but away from the traffic. Was a hidden gem!!! Found out, after talking to locals, that our location in Monkey Junction, is a favorite spot!!! Not only was location amazing but our hosts had fast communication with us when we needed it!

Too dirty for our tastes
Looked like months of hair in the house, especially in the bathrooms. Even after we cleaned it, it came back. It may have been in the AC too. One of the bunk beds had a food wrapper and pieces of leaves in it although it was made. Food near the back door with ants on it. Had to clean the coffee maker before using it. The kitchen sink was dirty. The mats in both showers have mildew on them. The shower curtain in the master bath is nasty. The rug in the living room has stains in it. The chairs on the porch are dirty. The cleaning fee we paid seems wasted.

My daughters wedding
My daughter got married in Wilmington the weekend of Ian. The owners worked with us during this special time. The house was even prettier than any of the pictures! The decor was beautiful and the house was super clean! Definitely great location as well! We would absolutely stay again if we go to Wilmington. We have stayed at many VRBO’s at different places and this place the owners were the friendliest and the house exceeded expectations! Highly recommend

Wonderful stay! House was in a nice, quiet neighborhood just off the main highway. It was convenient to be so close to Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach. House was very clean, nicely decorated, and the host was quick to answer any questions. Would definitely stay again!

Stayed 7 days in Nov 2021 Pros: location - quiet neighborhood in central location to area beaches and river walk WiFi - one guest was able to work remotely during stay Amenities - house is adequately equipped and clean Owner responsiveness - 2 broken items repaired in 2 days Cons: When room configuration changes (twins to bunk) after initial contract, renters should be notified directly and immediately!! The bunk was inconvenient for adults.

Comfortable small home
This property is very well furnished and decorated. Has all the necessities for a comfortable stay and even more. Loved the secure fenced in back yard for our two small dogs. I would recommend and would gladly stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay here! The house is beautiful and close to many restaurants and stores, this house has all the amenities you could ask for and more! We loved that our dog was able to come with us and she enjoyed the backyard and we loved that it was all fenced in!

The house is in the perfect location to go to either Wrightsville Beach or Carolina Beach. House was very nice, clean, and welcoming. Our dog enjoyed the backyard, and made a new friend with the neighbor's dog. The owners were very accommodating. Checking in/out was very easy.

Property is conveniently located between Wilmington proper or beaches. We visited both and really enjoyed both. For Wilmington, we noticed NO parking fees on Sunday or after 6:30pm during our trip. The property is as advertised with most appliances appearing new- huge washer and dryer; both look spankin’ new. Cozy fenced backyard with chairs, table and fire chiminea... Loved our visit.
