Be ready to embrace the symphony of nature colliding with eccentricity and antiquity, with today's the modern conveniences. When at your cabin, you'll be along the Bourbon Trail, nestled in the holler of Willisburg Lake, Kentucky's top fishing hole. Twenty minutes to Bardstown, 40 minutes from Keeneland and an hour from Louisville and Mammoth Cave.
Your rustic cabin has an indoor swing (guest favorite), well-appointed kitchen, open floor plan, fire pit, large deck, and located on the lake for fishing, and kayaking.
Remember the old Mother Goose poem of the crooked man with the crooked house?
Well, welcome to your unique home away from home, where being different, and crookedly awkward are accepted. :) Your cabin sets high above the lake, with an open floor plan and ceiling-to-floor windows throughout and a large deck fully furnished for your enjoyment.
- Spacious kitchen is well-equipped with the essentials needed to prepare a nice meal for you, your family/friends (colander, garlic press, pots/pans, baking dishes, blenders, etc).
- Eight beds (no sofa beds -- all beds). One bedroom with a California king (sleep number) and one large loft with a queen, full, and two twins. You and all your family/friends are sure to sleep well here
- The dual shower-head shower is heaven. Oh, and we have your toiletry essentials (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, hair dryer and soft extra ply toilet paper) and just in case you forget, we even have an extra toothbrush if needed.
- Deck with outdoor furniture and BBQ. Enjoy the sounds of nature while unwinding, watching a herd of deer while having dinner.
- Fire pit with a firestarter kit available near the lake with four Adirondak chairs and benches
- Kayaks (two) available along with life jackets and oars. (one tandem and one single).
- Fish galore! The lake is Kentucky's #1 fishing lake for large-mouth bass and #2 overall for fishing in Kentucky. The large-mouth bass, bluegill, white crappie and shell-crackers and more are awaiting your fishing hook! Okay, maybe that's a stretch. I'm sure they are not looking forward to getting hooked by you! :)
One with nature is where you will be during your visit on this one-acre property waiting for you.
We are in the holler, so expect to travel on gravel for a mile or two before arriving. Also, the cabin sets high above the lake, so that means the driveway and the walk to the lake are both on a downward slope (and gravel) yet all walkable and very well lit.
(No swimming per Fish & Game, but kayak, canoe, fish and skipping rocks are welcome!)
