"We were late to arrive (the desk closed at 22:30 and we had traffic issues). The Hotel kindly called me twice to ask how things were and then to say they had checked me in and they would leave the key under the mat so that I could get to my room. Breakfast was very good and the staff were really great. The room itself was cold when we arrived, the room was large and the radiator was small... I do appreciate we arrived late (something I had put in the notes when booking) but the room radiator...

"Property a bit tired looking however, spotlessly clean and staff where friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious with everything we needed although the lighting was rather dim. Small bathroom but adequate and great, powerful shower with constant hot water. Bed large and comfy. Room very quiet and warm. We ate evening meal in the pub, lovely food at reasonable price with varied menu. We also had breakfast, again, lovely food and a good choice. We would stay here again. "

"The room was absolutely fine for one night's solo travel as I went to a friend's party. I didn't want to spend a fortune and the room was a good price in the right location. I hadn't expected tea and coffee making facilities, nor a hairdryer but was pleasantly surprised with both. The bed was comfy and clean. "A nice stay when in the area. The food is good, as are the team. I did hear some locals moaning about both, however that isn't my experience at all. The rooms are good, I had a different room this time and it's probably due for some tlc, however it was serviceable and the bed was comfy etc. The Bowl has a nice feel in a lovely location - it was a stunning evening to sit outside and dine whilst reading a book - with the bell ringing practise starting in the evening. "

"Comfortable house stay, we used as a 1 night stopover on way to Cornwall. It's not particularly scenic, being at the end of an unloved housing estate. The property is clean and practical, but could do with a few tidying up jobs doing. I haven't had to pay a deposit on any other holiday accommodation we have stayed in, it was refunded to us. "
