Welcome to the Midnight Cabin! Whether you are looking for a home base to fish or hike with friends, a quiet retreat with family, or something in between, we have you covered. Relax in the hot tub (operated year-round), sit by the wood-burning fire pit, hop on the library ladder to grab a book, or play board games in the screened-in porch.
Minutes from Warden Lake, easily access local farmers' markets, Lost River State Park, George Washington National Forest, Virginia wine country, & more!
Located mere minutes from Warden Lake, this cabin is full of modern amenities inside: electric fireplace; gorgeous library, accessed by a sliding ladder; well-equipped kitchen with deep sink and quartz countertops; in-unit laundry; record player; Phillips Hue light features, and Samsung Frame TV with Disney+.
Once you get outside, chill out in the hot tub, show off your skills on the grill, or read a book on our screened in porch. On clear nights, you can see the Milky Way.
With 3 bedrooms, you can plan double date trips and bachelor/bachelorette weekends to Warden Lake and the Lost River, or you can bring the whole family along.
Downstairs, there are two bedrooms and one full bathroom.
The first bedroom has a king-sized bed and a closet. It has a sliding door allowing easy access to the hot tub or parking area.
The second bedroom has two full-over-full beds with Purple brand mattresses. The bunk headroom is very tall for both the bottom and top bunk, so it is comfortable for kids and adults alike.
The bathroom is located from the hallway and has a shower/tub combo.
Upstairs, there is one bedroom and one full bathroom. The upstairs bedroom has a queen-sized mattress, large closet, a sliding door to a small balcony, and a large desk with a comfy chair.
The upstairs bathroom is ensuite and has a standing shower. This bathroom is on the smaller side, so taller guests may want to shower downstairs.
We are proud to announce we now have Starlink high-speed internet. We are currently beta testing the satellite's location, so we are offering Frontier and Starlink in tandem. We advise connecting to Frontier primarily until we relocate the Starlink dish.
There are multiple places to work from if you can't leave it all behind. Upstairs, there is a large desk. Downstairs, there is a table that is perfect for those who like to stand and work, or sit at a stool. The screened-in porch has a coffee table and would be a comfy spot to sit on a Zoom call.
For dining, you can cook in our kitchen, out on our grill, or checkout the local eateries as close as 5 miles away. We have the benefit of being in a secluded location that is a quick drive away from conveniences like restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Note: many local establishments are closed earlier in the week, or do not stay open late, so we advise bringing some snacks if you will arrive late. Our kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, dinnerware, and basic oil and spices. Our grill is a charcoal grill, and it is on a bring-your-own-bag basis.
Outdoors we have a patio sectional, hot tub with 7-person capacity, wood-burning fire pit, cornhole, and some Adirondack chairs. Wood is provided! There are local restrictions on what time of day a fire can be lit; you must start after 5pm and have it out before 6am the following morning or you could be fined. Please keep that in mind!
We love animals, and welcome pets. Our pet fee is charged through the platform at the time of booking when you add pet guests to your reservation. If you need to add a pet to your reservation, please submit an alteration request or reach out and we can send you an alteration request :)
The entire place is yours!
The shed you see in pictures is for storage and is not accessible to guests.
I will not be present during your stay, but I am very responsive to texts/calls.
We ask that you are respectful of the rural nature of this property and be courteous to our neighbors while you are our guests.
You can use the outdoor amenities any time of night, but please be mindful of the volume to help preserve the serenity of the woods for our neighbors.
Our home is located on a private, gravel road. We are in the mountains so our road/driveway is not flat, but you do not need a 4x4 vehicle most of the year. We do encourage AWD or 4WD during the winter.
If you are not used to driving on gravel or on hills, you will definitely feel the difference between what you are used to and the driveway. It is not long, but it has an incline.
Please abide by the speed limit as you travel in the neighborhood.
We are in the woods. We share those woods with critters of all kinds.
We require that guests have their ID verified with Airbnb before they arrive.
Enjoy yourselves! Our amenities are for you to sit outside and relax 24/7, but please do so quietly. Our quiet hours are between 11pm-8am to help preserve the serenity of the woods for our neighbors and your fellow guests.
Please shower before using the hot tub. No pets, spilled alcohol, excessive lotion/sunscreen, bubble bath, or foreign objects in the hot tub. Close the cover when not in use. Any hot tub non-compliance that requires a drain and fill after your departure will result in a maintenance fee of $75.00.
Fires cannot be started earlier than 5pm and must not be burning by 6am the following morning. This is not a rule we came up with; there are local authorities issuing tickets.
Outside of quiet hours, please refrain from yelling or playing loud music outdoors.
Please keep doors and unscreened windows closed as much as possible. We are located in the woods near a body of water, so bugs will make their way inside if given the chance.
Please do not connect security cameras to our wifi without informing us first.
