Wood Pigeon Cottage- Pet friendly 2kms from Hauraki Rail Trail-Free Breakfast

Private tidy cottage in a peaceful, rural setting on 3 acres-with a boundary stream. Cottage is away from main house. Covered patio with bbq and outdoor furniture-looking over rural views. Kitchen has all utensils, pots, pans, microwave, cooktop, Breville oven, mini fridge/freezer, separate bedroom, bathroom, foyer entrance to sit and read or store bikes-Longe/living area with TV and CD player. hobby grapevines with Amy Winehouse available for guests to use. Owharoa waterfall, river and tramping within minutes including the amazing Dickies Flat walk down to Karangahake . Restaurant ( Falls Retreat),Waikino Pub and Waikino Railway Cafe within 2km. We are happy for guests to bring their dog-but must be on a lead when walking the property. Free breakfast-our farm eggs, bread, juice ,and other choices. Coffee/Tea provided. Wifi available but poor cell phone reception unless you have Wifi Calling on your phone but available 200 metres down the road.We do have 2 electric bikes for hiring…that can be organised on arrival.Auckland Airport125 kms, Waihi 10 minutes, Waihi Beach 20 minutes, Hauraki Rail trail< 5 minutes, Karangahake windows walk, 5kms, Access to Kaimai-Mamakau National park 4 kms, Tauranga 60 km, Whangamata Beach 40kms. There are also Restaurants and Cafes in both Paeroa and Waihi as well Waihi Beach.

Idyllic spot
Idyllic outlook and generous hosts, we had a lovely stay. Thank you for all the extra touches that made it feel special. The eggs were delicious! Clean, tidy and pretty place with everything you need and more. Great location close to gorge walks and less than 20mins to waihi beach.

Wood Pigeon Cottage was a delightful experience. The hosts were extremely accommodating and made us feel very welcome to enjoy the entire property. Their hospitality and all of the comforting touches were such a treat. It was a perfect place to stay for exploring the Karangahake Gorge and nearby waterfalls. Thank you!

Perfect - and dog friendly
A beautiful, tranquil spot, close to lots of walks and bike rides. Lynley and Dan were great hosts - and our dog got to have crazy run arounds with Mia and Gigi.

Our trip to Wood Pigeon Cottage
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful tranquil haven. Everything was perfect and just what we needed to relax and recharge. We also enjoyed the local area, the lovely walks and the friendly pub nearby. There are many interesting places to explore nearby so lots are on offer for a great place for a getaway! Thanks again for everything, we would love to come back one day soon and highly recommend a visit to anyone!!

Home away from home
Although wet had a wonderful relaxing stay. Real down time in somewhere that felt like a home away from home. Lynley and Dan are great hosts and gave recommendations on where to go and where I could take my dog. Will definitely stay again as still have some walks to do. The breakfast goodies were really appreciated. I highly recommend staying here

Pigeon Cottage
Lovely peaceful and restful location. My little dog felt very at home and made new friends I chose the cottage because well priced, fabulous location close to walks, waterfalls the river and beaches. The cottage is cosy and well equipped with all you need. Linley and Dan are welcoming hosts, very accomodating and friendly. Enjoyed my stay and went home refreshed

Cottage In The Country
We had a wonderful 4 nights at Pigeon Cottage in Waihi with our two Corgis, Emma and Isla. The owners of this property are so lovely and very helpful. There was everything in the Kitchen we needed for Breakfast plus other treats. I would recommend this Bookabach to everyone who needs a quiet peaceful few days in the Country. Cant wait to come back again Diane, Tabby, Emma and Isla

Wood pigeon cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the area. There's a ton of adventures close by. The host is very communicative and the whole process of checking in was easy. The place could do with a bit of a clean around the edges but was comfortable, peaceful and sunny. Just note there's no door between the bedroom and living area if you're taking kids. Thanks for the lovely stay!

Lovely spot, great owners
Great location, cute cottage with everything you need. Owners were lovely, lots of extra touches with thoughtfully stocked breakfast supplies. Quiet and relaxing. Had a blast with my dog Vox, exploring the great walks 2mins away. Thanks for a lovely weekend (and lots of pats for Vox).

This place is a pocket of paradise , private, peaceful, and comfortable, it has everything you need!
Paradise by the river, peaceful and calming. The breakfast offered as part of your stay the fresh homegrown eggs are something else. The waterfall just down the Rd is one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had! The house is comfortable with everything you need, I really appreciated there wonderful home and lovely hosts.

Wonderful relaxing stay at Pigeon Cottage. Beautifully decorated cottage and everything we needed was there, including farm fresh eggs and vogals for breakfast. The host was so welcoming and super friendly. Such a delightful stay with lots to do in the area. Our dogs felt very much at home. We are keen to return.

Weekend break
The cottage was in a quiet, peaceful location. The weather was terrible, otherwise I'm sure we would have enjoyed the tranquil setting outside. i.e. coffee on the patio looking across countryside. The cottage was great for two people and we enjoyed the good selection of breakfast food left for us. So, thank you, we appreciated that. Just a couple of minor maintenance items to attend to. We only spoke briefly with the owners, but they were very pleasant, friendly and welcoming.

Lovely Cottage
Wonderful place to stay. Peaceful, quiet, cosy with a rural outlook. I came to stay for a couple of nights away to unwind and recharge after a busy time, and experienced exaclty that. It was raining, I still managed to get out for some of the lovely walks nearby. Great hosts, everything you would expect of a self contained accommodation, plus breakfast supplies provided. Highly recommended! I plan to return one day soon.

A charming cottage and friendly hosts
Lynley and Dan are warm and friendly hosts, sharing tips for fishing holes and eggs from their chooks. The cottage decor is charming with tranquil views of a flowery meadow and tree lined river. It was lovely to find fresh eggs, Vogel bread, chocolate and some bits n bobs in the fridge. An unexpected extra. We had a wonderful time fishing and riding the trail and hope to be back again sometime. Thank you!
