"Beautiful property and amazing people. They were super nice and helpful. We rented the side by side and they provided us with feed to use out on the property. We got to see a bunch of really cool animals and had a ton of fun fishing too. We will definitely be going back! "

Would be very fun to visit during summer to take advantage of the pool. The listing on VRBO can be slightly confusing. There is a room that list two queen beds which only has one and upstairs living room that lists king is an air mattress. These beds we were using for kids, so we were able to make it...

"Amazing place to stay that really brings you back to the days when things were a little slower paced. Lots of old car and gas station memorabilia that is decorated very nicely. The highway 90 out front was very quite and not real busy. Train is close by but did not bother or effect us in the least. Front outdoor area nice to relax with coffee and start the day and the backyard area with firepit is a great place to end that day. Everything was clean and tidy with plenty of necessary supplies....

"Great property conveniently located in Schulenberg. We were greeted with a luscious cake and our family really enjoyed the pool! Very nicely renovated farmhouse, but note the steps to the second floor are steep and narrow - the way they were built back then."

"Loved the location, so close to everything we wanted to do and see. House was decorated so well and close to period. Photos of the original family were a nice surprise. So much thought and planning went into making our stay extra special. Trains were a little noisy but otherwise everything was great! Would recommend to others."

"This is by far the best family rental we've ever stayed at! The house was impeccable and designed perfectly so that we never felt crowded. The game barn outside is where we spent a lot of our time. It was a great place for kids, teens, and adults alike! We also loved looking at the cows!!! If you're looking for a peaceful family getaway, look no further!"

"The structure was fine--cute and thoughtful, but the floor was littered with hundreds of small millipedes oddly enough. Nothin too crazy. We swept the whole place and carried on. It was clear that no one had given the place any attention in a while. There were cobwebs and dead bugs all around the corners of the ceiling. None of this was enough to upset me, but the following made me feel strongly that I deserved some kind of price break or rebate:ZERO communication from host.Key lock box not set...

"This was the perfect place for our getaway. The property was fantastic. The cabin was wonderful full of interesting history about the Chicken Ranch and everything we needed to cook and relax. Jan was wonderful and always responsive. The best part for us was being able to let our dogs off leash to run and hike the numerous trails. We will definitely return "
