"Excellent accommodations and so close to Sax Zim Bog. The temperature hit a low of -21 or so when we were there and we stayed toasty warm in the yurt. It wasn’t even that bad going out to the heated outhouse. "

"Thanks for hosting us. It is GREAT to be able to stay at the White Pine Retreat for our annual thanksgiving holiday. Instructions were really helpful and made it easy to get in/out and heat up the cabin for our thanksgiving stay. Close-up and check-out was easy! "If there was an option to leave a 10-star rating I would! This place was fantastic and has great amenities you don’t see at other rentals. We had a group of 4 fisherman and this place had ample parking and power outlets outside and the inside was clean and had everything anyone would ever need. Fantastic place and will be back! "

"Gorgeous views and very nice cabin! Host was extremely responsive to any and all of our questions. He even helped locate a left behind toy. Only recommendation is if you travel there in the winter make sure you have good tires and 4 wheel drive! Drive is steep and slipperly when that gorgeous Minneaota snow starts falling! "

If you want a multi-generational group to gather here the owners need to address window coverings, especially in the one bathroom that has a shower that does not leak through the floor into the kitchen. "Went to relax and celebrate my wife's birthday. We have been to Elbow Lake several times and knew what to expect. The cabin is "no frills" but that is part of the experience. It is right on the lakeshore with a deck literally a few feet from the water. The lake is quiet with very few boats making it easy to hear the frequent loon calls. It's a good kayak / canoe lake with a beautiful sand beach in front of the lodge for swimming. The on-site manger and his family are there for whatever you need....
