The sunny interior comes well-appointed for contemporary seaside living. The fully updated kitchen boasts a sparkling suite of all-new stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, for stress-free meal prep and planning. Plush seating, a propane stove, and a mini-split air-conditioner offer all-season comfort for group gatherings in the living room, while the adjacent den includes a smart TV for home entertainment. A covered landing is equipped with a gas grill for summertime cookouts. Free WiFi and a private washer/dryer round out the in-home essentials.

Some good, some disappointments
On the good side, the location was even better than anticipated. Easy to walk to shops and restaurants. Parking was easy and directions to enter were good enough. In the unit, the kitchen and living room were nice and spacious, as pictured. Most convenience items were supplied. However, we were disappointed with the pervasive mildewy old house smell. It was less pronounced in the unit than in the stairway but bad enough that it lingered on our clothes after leaving. As others have mentioned, the bed description and pictures are misleading. The bedroom listed with a queen and a twin is actually a full size bed with a trundle (presumably a twin). The pictures with red bedding make them look like 2 different beds because one looks significantly smaller than the other - it’s actually just the one full (not queen) bed from different angles.

Family Reunion
We loved the location as it was across the street from other family member’s VROB. Overall kitchen and living areas were clean. But the carpets in the bedrooms are in dire need of cleaning or replacing. The closet in the main bedroom had insulation, Sheetrock/construction debris on floor making it unpleasant to use. There was no hand or shower soap in 2nd bath and no shower soap in main bath.The noise level can be high. There was a large group renting the 3rd floor apartment that partied late into the night.

Review of 180 Main Vineyard Haven
Overall this apartment had a walkable good location near eateries and shopping in Vineyard Haven. The apartment area that has been updated was nice and well maintained however some areas are very dated such as bedrooms and closets. The MBR had insulation coming out of the wall and smelled like mildew. I hung my clothes in the room instead. MBR had a dirty pillow and case, old with large sweat stains. Pillow sham was also stained. Clean bedding is an absolute and basic expectation and necessity. Light bulbs were out in one of the MBR lamps and bathroom. I was not find able to find any in the apartment. Comforters are thin. I bought a blanket to use at night when it got cool. A basic comforter with a duvet, updated bedding and a throw blanket would be a nice addition. Towels and bathroom linen was fresh. No air conditioning in rooms just the living room. Not sure how I missed this. There was one window and small fan that we used during the day when it got hot. Carpet is stained in both bedrooms and should be deep cleaned and/or replaced. I don’t think the cleaning team did a thorough cleaning as there were odd smells in the apartment and both bedrooms and the floors in kitchen and common area were a little sticky. I was expecting the fresh clean smell. 3/5 stars overall.

Needs a gut Job
Building itself is dilapidated…the front steps greet you with chunks of cement crumbling and laying in the way of safe entry. The front porch has broken and filthy furniture that is advertised as a great space for group dining. The inside Hall had a very offensive odor. Our apartment had a similar odor we bought candles to hide. The bedrooms were advertised as Queen and one had barely a double. Second bath was so old and awful and small. Not a Kleenex not a paper towel or a napkin to be had Kitchen almost nothing in cabinets. Just wanted to stay out and never come back. Not the retreat advertised and very expensive!!! Unhappy!
