Upon entering the house, guests will find three separate bedrooms, each adorned in energetic colors and featuring comfortable double beds suitable for couples or individuals. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and toilet, and the other with an en-suite toilet in one of the bedrooms.
All three bedrooms are located on the same floor as the fully-equipped, old-fashioned kitchen and adjacent living room with a dining area and fireplace. The living room opens onto a large covered terrace with enchanting sea views, where guests can relax and soak in the tranquil Mediterranean surroundings.
A second private terrace features garden furniture, a hanging hammock, and a BBQ, ideal for preparing tasty Mediterranean dishes. The house is solar-powered and equipped with Wi-Fi, SAT TV, and air conditioning, ensuring guests stay comfortable and connected during their stay.
From the spacious terrace, guests can access the beach area, where they will find comfortable private sunbeds, a canopy, and the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea stretching before them. Near the house lies the first pebble beach, which is public but never too crowded. Guests can rent kayaks (for free for our guests) and the host is happy to provide more information on-site.
The surrounding landscape is a feast for the eyes, with Mediterranean flora in shades of green, and the sparkling Adriatic Sea. Guests can enjoy complete privacy and rejuvenate in this idyllic setting.
The on-site restaurant, run by the host and his father, serves delicious dishes made only from local ingredients. Guests can indulge in perfectly grilled Sea Bass, lightly grilled local vegetables with herbs and buttered potatoes with a touch of parsley, and a delectable dessert. The restaurant is small and intimate, so booking a table in advance is advisable.
It is a small quiet restaurant, no music, very quiet, just 5-6 tables, mostly for the guests of two houses.
As the sun sets, the evening ambience is magical, with discreet patio lighting, the hum of other guests, and the breathtaking sea view providing a perfect ending to an enjoyable day. Get ready for an unforgettable holiday at this beach-front stone house!
BEACH
The vacation house boasts a prime location with direct access to the first pebble beach, which offers a serene and uncrowded experience. The beach also offers kayak and small boat rentals for those seeking adventure, and your host will gladly provide further information.
Beyond this beach, there are several other stunning bays nearby with a variety of beach types, from pebble to stone to sandy, ensuring there is something for everyone.
For avid pebble beach enthusiasts, a must-visit is Proizd island, located just a short boat ride away (with departures available four times daily from Vela Luka to Proizd island, which takes about 20 minutes one way). Proizd island was even awarded as the most popular beach in the Adriatic Sea in 2008, with its four stunning pebble beaches, one of which is even designated for nudists.
SURROUNDINGS
The vacation house is located in Picena Bay, a small and peaceful bay situated 5 km away from Vela Luka on the island of Korcula. The historical town of Korcula can be found diametrically across the island.
Another beautiful bay in the vicinity is Stracincica, which can be accessed by driving past local villages for only 5 minutes from Vela Luka, the town where the ferry from Split arrives. Vela Luka offers a range of amenities such as shops, post office, local market, bakery, restaurants, and bars.
Stracincica Bay is a quiet and peaceful bay with few tourists and no shops or restaurants available on-site. However, all of these facilities can be easily found in Vela Luka, just a 5-minute drive away. This secluded location offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy the endless sea and tranquility of your surroundings.
For those who wish to dine out, Gradina Bay is a 20-minute drive away and boasts a wonderful restaurant with delicious Mediterranean food and a stunning beach-front location. Another highly recommended option is the agrotourism restaurant Miletic, which is one of the most authentic Mediterranean places on the island.
HOW TO REACH YOUR HOLIDAY HOME
Both Dubrovnik and Split airports are available options for your travel needs.
If you choose Split airport, you can take advantage of the ferry or catamaran services that operate from Split port, which will transport you to Vela Luka on Korcula Island. Once you arrive in Vela Luka, it will only take 10 minutes by car to reach your holiday home. Alternatively, there is a catamaran service that departs from Split port and travels directly to Korcula town. However, please note that if you opt for this option, you will need to allocate an additional 50 minutes of travel time to reach your holiday home.
If you decide to take the catamaran from Dubrovnik, you will arrive in Korcula town, where you will need to arrange a 50-minute taxi ride to reach your accommodation. We would be delighted to assist you with organizing your transportation, should you require it.
