"Location war gut über Zuggleise und Schienen zu erreichen. Personal war sehr nett! Lage war gut aber rund 10 mins zu Fuß und mit einige Höhenmeter von Ella enternt. Die unterkunft war leider etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Zimmer hatte keine Voll verschließbaren Fenster. Es gab Schimmel an der Decke. Die Aussicht und die Natur waren gut. Wir haben uns nicht unwohl gefühlt, aber so richtig gefreut auf die Unterkunft haben wir uns auch nicht. Man kann also viel verbessern - daher stehen wir...

"The views were amazing, room was big and clean, there is a steep walk to the hotel but staff helped with bags, the breakfast was average, overall a nice place to stay with friendly staff and views were unreal"

"The property was fine but there were two things that stood outabout our stay. Firstly it was a quiet location with fabulous views. Secondly and most significantly, the couple that ran the hotel where absolutely charming and extremely helpful. They made a meal for us when we arrived which was delicious and the helped arrange a tuk tuk for a morning of touring. We found all the people we dealt with in Sri Lanka were welcoming and nice, but this couple stood out as extra special."

"This hotel is Absolutely Amazing! The staffs are incredible people, helpful, friendly, kind. One of the best services that we had. Great room with stunning view; breakfast delicious. Also, delicious dinner. We really had a great time there, and super recommend! "

"We loved the beauty of this place. Everyone was friendly and beyond helpful. I took photos from my balcony of a family of deer. it was incredible. Staff also helped us book a once in a lifetime safari. I definitely recommend this stay. "

"The hotel was clean and the rooms were great. The only drawback is the steep climb to the hotel.it is in the center of town and you can walk to restaurants, shopping and bars. The chef made food packages to take on the train trip- which was lovely. "

"Really enjoyed our stay at Ella Retreat. The glamping tent was ideal for us, spacious and comfortable, and the balcony overlooking the waterfall was amazing! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, organising our (very tasty) meals, tuktuks and laundry. "

"This place is magical! Truly a stay in the jungle. There’s no road to the cabin so the last part you have to walk on the railway. However the staff were really helpful and carried our suitcases the whole way - so do recommend to pack lightly. The place was amazing and the staff were so kind and helpful. Highly recommend! "

"Hotellet ligger fuldstændigt fantastisk, men de er under ombygning hvilket skæmmer oplevelsen noget. Vi måtte bytte til et nyt værelse grundet gener fra ombygningen og det værelse var rigtigt fint. En skøn have med blomster og en udsigt som er guddommelig."

"Great location, right next to the Main Street where all the restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is more of a guest house. Rooms are very basic - but very large. Can easily accommodate 4 people. Breakfast is either sri-lanken or western, they are very generous with the quantities. If you are looking for a 4/5 star hotel - it’s not the place for you. It is a low budget option for families who prefer that kind of experience. We enjoyed :)"
