North Shore Gateway Retreat

Welcome to the North Shore Gateway Retreat in Two Harbors, MN. This cozy and modern cabin is the perfect home base for all your adventures along Lake Superior's North Shore.

Inside the cabin you can enjoy a fully stocked kitchen and multiple living spaces equipped with smart TV's where you can stream your favorite shows and movies. At the end of the day you can escape to the modern bathroom for a hot shower and then retreat to the bedrooms for a restful nights sleep in one of the plush queen beds.

You can feel confident that all your basic necessities are provided upon arrival. These items include a starter supply of paper towels, toilet paper, cooking oil, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, and coffee filters, trash bags, dish pods/soap, laundry pods/dryer sheets and basic shower supplies.

The property offers ample parking for multiple vehicles and trailers, making it the perfect place for those who enjoy their recreational equipment such as snowmobiles, ATVs and boats. Please note that recreational equipment cannot be launched from the property but there are many nearby trails where you can enjoy these activities. Kick back and relax after a long day of exploring the great outdoors by crafting a meal on the outdoor grill and enjoying some quality time around the fire pit. Large Solo Stove fire pit available for guest use. Firewood is readily available along the north shore at gas stations, hardware stores, and private sellers along highway 61.

Guest Interaction: Our awesome guest service team is here to assist you from 8am to 9pm. If you have any questions or need anything, just give us a ring. You'll find our contact information in your booking confirmation. We'll primarily communicate through the booking platform and/or email, so keep an eye out for important check-in info. You'll receive all the details at 3pm on the day of your arrival. Check-in time is at 4pm. Check-out time is 10am. Feel free to reach out if you need anything else. We're here to make your stay amazing!

VACATION RENTAL HOUSE RULES

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS a) All Guests (and any Visitors) must comply with all House Rules and any other instructions from the Property Manager during their stay; and b) Guests must notify the Property Manager of any disputes or complaints from neighbors as soon as reasonably practicable.

2. NOISE AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD a) This Vacation Rental is suitable for children of all ages! Guests are fully responsible for the safety and security of their children at all times, as well as any disturbance caused to other residents in the Neighborhood; b) Guests and Visitors must keep noise to a minimum as not to disturb the occupants of neighboring properties – especially during nighttime hours (10pm – 8am), and upon arrival and departure; c) Excessive noise is prohibited at all times and may result in termination of the vacation rental agreement, eviction, loss of rental paid and extra charges which may be deducted from the Security Deposit;

3. VISITORS a) Guests are allowed a maximum of 4 visitors at any time during their stay. b) Guests are responsible for ensuring maximum visitor numbers are not exceeded; and that visitors are complicit with these House Rules.

4. FUNCTIONS a) Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited at the Vacation Rental; and b) Any small gathering must comply with other rules set regarding Noise, the Neighborhood and Visitor numbers.

5. PARKING a) Guests and any visitors are to comply with parking regulations and other requirements set out by the property manger and show consideration to neighbors and other vehicles; please use the designated parking.

6. SECURITY a) Any time Guests leave the Vacation Rental, it is their responsibility to ensure all windows and doors are closed/locked to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage. b) Guests must switch off the lights, air conditioning, fans, electronics such as televisions when not in use to promote energy saving.

7. SMOKING a) Smoking is not permitted inside the Vacation Rental; and b) Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly (in large trash cans located outside property or off property all together) and not thrown on property grounds. Failure to do so will result in a deduction from the security deposit.

8. PETS a) Pets are not permitted at this property.

9. DAMAGES AND BREAKAGES a) All Damages and Breakages must be reported to the Property Manager as soon as reasonably practicable. Failure to report them will likely result in a penalty deduction from the security deposit. And; b) To avoid Damages and Breakages, no furniture is to be moved from one room to another without prior agreement.

10. CHECK OUT ARRANGEMENTS a) Please be sure to lock all doors and leave both sets of keys back in the lockbox. Check out is at 10am - if you need a later checkout please contact me as soon as possible to make arrangements.

11. EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS: a) In the event of an emergency relating to the Vacation Rental, your emergency contact is: Heirloom Vacation Rentals b) In the event of all other emergencies please call 911.

12. COMPLIANCE a) Breach of any of these House Rules is a breach of the Terms and Conditions of occupancy as per the Rental Agreement. b) The Owner and Manager reserve the right to terminate permission to occupy and to evict from the Vacation Rental, any Guests or Visitors who refuse to follow these House Rules or who cause a nuisance to neighbors or other residents of the community.

Needs improving
There are a lot of things that need improving/changing at this rental. 1) The kitchen didn't have hardly anything to cook on/with and no cupboards or shelves to put food. 2) The carpet was very dirty with spots. 3) You couldn't open any windows because they didn't have any screens. 4) They said there would be firewood (starter) and there wasn't any. 5) The shower drain was terrible and had to be fixed while we were there. 6) It was ridiculous not being able to get the code to the door until one hour before (we wouldn't have gone early), felt like management did not trust us. We rent a lot of places and have never had to wait until one hour before. 6) We believe that one of the bedrooms had bedbugs because my husband got home and had bites all over his body. We did let management know, but never heard back from them if they did. We would not recommend this rental to anyone or stay again unless we knew the items listed had been fixed.

Two Harbors get away
Has a very cozy-homie feel to it. Ideal for a small family or 2 couples. Perfect location between Two Harbors and Gooseberry and Split Rock state parks. Lots to see and do with good restaurants all around
