We reserved a premium king suite and after checking in found the room to have an electrical issue in the bedroom…light switch and lamps were inoperative. The smoke detector was also chirping. Upon calling the front desk, we were told maintenance staff leaves at 4pm…same time as guest check-in which seems rather odd. There were no other equal accommodations and so we were put in a standard king room. This room had a broken mirror on the closet door, brown stains in the bathroom sink and the microwave was ancient and rumbled like it might blow up. There were hairs on the back of the toilet and frayed towels. The sheets were so wrinkled I wasn’t sure they were fresh. The hotel seems to be in bad need of an update and better management. The hotel offered nothing to compensate for the room change. We asked the hotel to handle contacting Expedia and we’re told they would try. We asked a second time that evening and got no further response so we contacted Expedia ourselves. Expedia was great to make things right with the hotel property when we contacted them. We just shouldn’t have had to spend close to an hour on the phone to handle this ourselves. We typically stay at Home2Suites in Tupelo which is an excellent property but thought we would give this property a try because of its proximity to the mall. We will not be staying here again and do not recommend this property.
