"Cool cabin, peaceful and quiet. Very basic items were provided. Bring your own kitchen and bath items, like baking dish, spices, cooking oil, condiments, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, etc. Washer and dryer in the bathroom was convenient. You have to hand wash dishes since no dishwasher. Trout in the pond are used to being fed with fish food rather than hunting for natural food. Lol. Saw couple turkeys and couple deer around the pond. Lots of birds and squirrels."

"Roughly 2 hour drive to the mountains. Inexpensive getaway to the mountains and to see Roanoke Va for a long weekend. Trails near by. Restaurants and downtown are not to far away. "

"The property does have a slight slant on the first floor which can be fun after a few adult beverages. The house was clean and provided all the things i needed. The host communicated the door number the morning off as promised. The only complaint i would have is the pool table is too big for that room and the dart board is missing the darts. I would rent this house again next time I'm in Roanoke. "

"What a beautiful place to stay! The hosts were incredible and loved that every evening they had the fire-pit ready to go with logs available for our evening night cap under the stars. Waking up in the morning to a beautiful view of the mountains from the shower was spectacular. The suite was clean, welcoming and well maintained inside and out. "My husband and I went to Roanoke for our anniversary. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. This place was super close to downtown. When we went, the weather was stormy, but we could have easily walked to downtown,if the weather had permitted. "

"This house was even better than advertised. Our large multi-generational family was at SML for my son’s wedding and this house provided everything we were looking for. Especially loved the large open floor plan with multiple gathering areas on the main floor, basement level as well as outside on the porches and patios. The heated pool, hot tub and paddle boards provided plenty of fun for the younger ones. Highly recommend this house!!"

"House was clean and beautiful, with excellent location. Dock w kayaks and the fire pit added to the fun! We brought Paddleboards and floaties and the water was clean and refreshing! We also rented pontoon boat for a day and had a blast- well worth it! Definitely would go here again. "

"A couple friends and I went fishing on the upper James and rented the River's Bend cabin. What a fabulous place! The cabin was clean, spacious, and well-appointed with everything we needed for a 3-day getaway. "Some friends and I stayed at this beautiful home for a girls weekend and it was amazing! The house had everything we needed and was so close to everything! We spent our nights in the hot tub and making a fire and our days visiting the Alpaca farm, a local vineyard, downtown Roanoke, and a few other places. We definitely want to come back to experience the kayaks and SUP. So thankful for a great host. "

"My family enjoyed our stay! The backyard, deck and dock area is fantastic. The tiki bar is a nice addition. We enjoyed the stand up paddle board, kayaks and paddle boat. We rented a boat and were able to tie up to the floating dock with no problem. I am sure during the summer months it is even more fun to spend hours outdoors there with the provided steps directly to the lake. The house was clean and well maintained. The owners were extremely responsive and a pleasure to work with. Thanks again...
