Experience - The Area... Often called Cornwall's forgotten corner the Rame Peninsula with its quaint villages sheltered by tidal creeks and wild coastline looking out to the Atlantic is a wonderful location for families, couples and pet owners looking for adventure, history or simply wanting to relax. Emelle is a former Pilchard Palace and school located in the heart of Cawsand a sleepy village steeped in history overlooking Plymouth Sound and featured in the period drama Mr Turner. Enjoy time wandering the narrow streets with colourfully painted cottages perched on the water's edge and stroll across to neighbouring Kingsand. These historic villages have a thriving community with shops, galleries and places to stop and enjoy some local produce, a drink or simply sit and watch the world go by. Emelle is only 30 yards from the beach, the bakery and village tea room and 50 yards from the pub and restaurant. If you are looking for lazy days by the water's edge, then you won't have to walk far! A path cut into the rocks from the cottage gives you direct access onto Girt beach which welcomes dogs all year and backed by the iconic Clock tower which was built to commemorate the coronation of King George V, there are two further beaches within 200m of the property one in Cawsand and one in Kingsand. Whitsand Bay is only five miles from the village so pack your beach gear and explore this three mile stretch of sand. Walking is a big part of a holiday in this part of Cornwall and you are not short of inland and coastal walks to choose from. Join the South West Coast Path and walk to Penlee Point with glorious views of Rame Head to the south or head north to Mount Edgcumbe Park, gardens and stately home overlooking Plymouth Sound. Only a short ferry ride by car from Torpoint is Plymouth, alternatively a foot passenger service departs from Mount Edgcumbe and during the summer months you can take the foot passenger service from Cawsand beach. Plymouth offers a wide range of shopping, entertainment and restaurants with the Theatre Royal and National Marine Aquarium a must see if you hop over the water. Stay - The Accommodation...
