1st, I’d like to say we’d go again in a heartbeat. This is a true retreat. Views of mountains and lake are incredible, with plenty of places to enjoy them from the house and dock. The property manager was helpful and easy to communicate with. The gravel road is a bit long and treacherous but signs are helpful and we thought it was well maintained. Our visit was for a family wedding, with families at other lake homes nearby. Renting a boat to visit other docks and enjoy the lake was a huge bonus. Wi-Fi worked as well as could be expected in a location such as this, especially with multiple devices. We never turned on one of the many TV’s. We enjoyed being together, swimming, kayaks, hot tub, playing cards and games, putting together house puzzles with a handful of missing pieces and cooking and grilling. Having a meal plan is a must. Hit the market before you arrive, it will take a good hour to run out for something. The marina market and restaurant is not open everyday. In my opinion the house is best for only able bodied guests, and not young children that need constant supervision. Dark steep stairs. Rugs and furniture corners protrude from everywhere. The furniture is large scale throughout. I’m 5’7” and could barely use the master bath sink it was so massive. The house seems intentionally curated with lots of things to appreciate which only added to its charm and our good time. Some items have suffered damage and the property overall needs detailed cleaning and maintenance. I don’t know how the cleaning crew can choose what to focus on in the time they have. Cleanliness is relative anyway. For this massive house I’d say it was good. We felt the bathrooms, bedrooms, beds and floors were clean enough. There is plenty of linens. I don’t think there was a thing missing overall. You just have to feel comfortable exploring. The kitchen was our only challenge. Of course this is the space used the most and where everyone gathers. It was not very clean and every drawer and cabinet was a random mishmosh of pieces, mostly dirty. I’ve experienced this with other large homes as well. We tried to put things in a place that made sense, and it was nice that there was plenty of plates, glassware, flatware, and anything you needed. Except no sharp knives so my brother in law brought his own when he arrived. There is no pantry space in the kitchen so you have to get creative. I’d like to thank the owners for sharing this magnificent home.
