"Lovely inn along a beautiful river. Arrived late due to car troubles. Kitchen was closed and owner graciously offered to make something, which we very much appreciated. Volunteered to help with our tire issue but in the end rental car company sent some one. Would recommend to anyone."

"Great stay a short walk from the centre of Moffat. Caroline and Miles are super helpful and nice (Miles kept parking spaces free for us so we could park our motorcycles right outside the front of the hotel.) Plenty of parking on this quiet street. There are just 3 rooms here. They are a good size, warm and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is great quality with lots of choice. Couldn’t fault the quality and service and will definitely return."

"We enjoyed our stay very much. We enjoyed the conversations we had with our hosts, Esther and Ian, both of whom when out of their way to welcome us and help us. We especially enjoyed walking from the B&B to Threave Castle and exploring the nature preserve. We were traveling without a car and had no problem getting to the property by bus."

"The hotel is a stately home. More like a Manor that is just outside Penpont; Thornhill is just a 5 min drive. It’s located in a gorgeous area surrounded by lovely old oak trees and the Scaur River. Excellent for a good walk. "

"Lovely owners welcomed us to the cottage which is bigger than it looks in the pictures. We visited the castles, drove the 50 minutes to Rochford beach a few times, swam in one of the Lochs, had lovely food in the cafe in town (20 minutes away) and good beer in the posh hotel. "

"we had a lovely stay at templand cottages. The little cottage had everything as described. The most helpful and kind landlords. Absolutely relaxing private hot tub. Definitely quiet, no traffic, partying or other noise will disturb you there. Breathtaking view and although remote, it’s only a 20min walk or 5min drive to the town (for groceries or a afternoon coffee…) Lots of places to visit within 40min (or shorter) drive away. One of the few places we have been to, we would definitely like to...
