The Hoot Owl Cabin on The Mulberry River

This beautiful cabin is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Ozarks. The cabin features a private bedroom with two person jetted Jacuzzi tub. There is also a loft with queen bed as well if you decide to bring the kids along. There is a fully stocked kitchen and laundry room. The sunsets from the porch are amazing! You are sure to enjoy this little slice of heaven.

Girls trip Oct 2024
I took my daughter’s for a weekend getaway and we had a wonderful time. The bathtub was definitely a highlight for us girls. The loft is small, but was perfect for my teenager to sleep. Time at the creek on the property was great for the kids to play and I got to relax. The hiking trails were great, driving around was beautiful and relaxing. I highly recommend the general store and Bistro for meals out.

Perfect Location
We enjoyed the cabin. Great location. Great new restaurant nearby. Cabin was clean and cozy. We loved everything about it except for the crunchy plastic mattress cover on the bed. Felt like we were sleeping on a baby bed mattress. It was noisy and we woke up sweating from the plastic.

Perfect location for ATV riding
We loved the cabin and the location. Nice and clean and new. Has everything you need. Shower was great. Parking was great for trailers. Host was really nice and easy to deal with. I think we will be staying here again soon. Really nice cabin. Lots of wild life.

Came to the area to attend Tree Climbers Championship. Cabin was convenient to Byrd Adventure Center. Would like to come back to float the River.

total eclipse 04-08-2024
excellent place to stay, got to meet the hosts family as they were camping nearby, very nice folks. hoot owl was perfect for me, my son and his 2 kids. they had fun playing in the river and we all got to watch the total eclipse. the other properties available also look very nice. i will be returning later in the year (winter time) to take some deep sky astrophotographs as the night sky is very dark.

We loved staying in the Hoot Owl. It had everything we needed and we enjoyed lots of time exploring on the Mulberry River and eagle watching. We highly recommend!

Great cozy cabin!
Perfect cabin for a couple. Great location if you like the outdoors and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life! Quiet area. No cell service, but Wi-Fi works great and we were able to use Wi-Fi calling. Clean and neat cabin!

Great place to access UTV trails!
Nice little cabin for a weekend stay. Has all the essentials and is comfortable for two people. Felt secure and enjoyed the fire pit! We didn’t use the grill, or kitchen but you could definitely make meals there if you chose to. We ate at Oark general store and Byrds restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Miles of beautiful trails close by and a great drive to Mill Creek or Byrds.

Cute little cottage in the woods.
Nice and quite cabin. We were able to sit on the front porch with our morning coffee and enjoy the beautiful fall leaves. Just wish the back door had a porch also. It has all the modern conveniences except a dishwasher. Very enjoyable trip to the area. The property manager communicated with us a couple of times. She was just checking to see if we had what needed. Very nice.

Relaxing vacation
This cabin was immaculately clean with everything you could possibly need! The location is in a picture perfect settling. There is even a swimming hole on the property and the water is cool and blue. We saw deer every morning. My husband and I enjoyed our stay so much and we will be back!

Adult Get-away
We enjoyed staying at the “Hoot Owl!” The cabin was very clean, comfortable and had everything we could’ve needed for a long weekend. We cooked food in the tiny kitchen and logged into our Hulu account on the smart tv. There was excellent wifi as well. We used the jacuzzi tub and there was plenty of hot water. It was located in a convenient location just off the road with plenty of privacy. There is a nice area with a fire pit behind the cabin. I can only think of a couple things to improve the experience. The mattress could use a mattress pad to separate the sheet from the waterproof mattress cover as it was very crinkly and hot. The washcloths and bath towels need replaced as they are well past their prime. Overall, it was a 5 star stay!

Beautiful rustic cabin
Great place to stay for a couple with young children. Beautiful location and close to the Mulberry River. We met the people staying in the covered wagon across from us and we felt like true neighbors. Everyone was so friendly in the area.

needs better bedding
So even though I stated that 3 would be staying, we still had to make the bed in the loft. The stairs to the loft were made of rebar, so we had to wear shoes just to get up there. None of the outlets worked in the loft so my daughter couldn't charge her phone. Gave us anxiety just making sure she had enough charge to use her alarm. The sheets on the queen bed in the downstairs bedroom were probably a full set. The fitted kept coming up. I'd fix my side, then my husband would fix his. At one point i was sleeping directly on the plastic mattress cover. I even tried to sleep on the love seat since i was so uncomfortable, but since i was over the age of 4, that sleep wasn't good either. I tried sleeping back on the bed again, sleeping on the flat sheet. But since I like sheets and blankets to sleep under, it was still awkward. The bathroom hand towels and wash cloths were old and stained. Not a good look. It was not an enjoyable experience.

Cozy cabin
This location was cozy and very nicely decorated. There was enough hot water to get the jacuzzi filled up, which was fantastic. Had just about anything you would need in the kitchen. TV remote in bedroom not functioning so could not use tv even after trying different batteries. The location was very remote with no cell service which made it very hard to navigate and to make plans. There was no water in the river which is the main reason we wanted to stay there. Would have been nice to know prior to the booking being confirmed that the river was non existent. We have stayed at many VRBO’s and they went above and beyond to make your stay personalized and special after stating the reason of your visit, this one did not. Our trip was cut short a day due to an emergency so one day charge for no stay. Overall we had a good time but definitely some things needed to be improved for a 5 star.

Perfect get-away
The Hoot Owl Cabin was the perfect place for our wedding anniversary - such a quiet, peaceful, country location. The cabin was fresh and clean with an eye for comfort and design. We will definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for some solitude and relaxation. We’d love to go back some day.
