dated but good
People have said this hotel is dated and yes it certainly is, there is no doubt of its 1970's credentials, from the flowery tiles in the bathroom too the bright yellow loo seat and matching loo brush.
But...... they are just tiles, the price I paid represented good value for money in this location and if you can look past the 1970's veneer then you have a good hotel.
So, I asked for a top floor, having read people complain about the road noise, I had no problem with noise and am a light sleeper. If you don't know the city its built on the side of a hill, so when you read reviews of people saying "car are revving up the hill outside"..... good luck finding a hotel not on a hill with a road outside!
The balcony has the most fantastic view over the city and looks right out to Mount Etna, what more could you want.
Other reviews talk about there being no shower curtain, it's true and I don't know why there is not one, it makes showering difficult and hard not to make the floor wet.
On my trip I was not charged for parking at the hotel, but it was quiet, an oversight, not sure. The parking is limited and we did not use the car for our stay so it was not an issue but I would think there would be a lot of shunting of cars if you did need to get out and you have to leave your keys at reception so they can shunt them around.
Honestly, look past the decor and you have a good hotel.
