Thamaya Heritance is a colonial-era luxury antique villa, centrally located in the southern part of Sri Lanka. Occupied by a colonial-era judge, it is now carefully restored with the latest modern-day facilities. It has 5 large rooms & accommodates 14 guests. 15 minutes’ walk to the beach. 1-hour drive to all major tourist attractions in the south, such as Galle-Fort, Whales-watching Mirissa, Udawalawa elephant park, Yala Safari, Hiriketiya surfing beach, Kumana birds watching etc. We serve B/F, Lunch & Dinner at reasonable rates.

Thamaya Heritance is situated in southern coastal city of Tangalle, Sri Lanka. 196km from Colombo and traveling time by road takes around 2.5 hours via Southern Expressway.

The villa consists of five spacious bedrooms with attached baths, two large living rooms, a dining room, front and back large open verandahs, pantry, kitchen, driver’s accommodation, staff accommodation facilities and a resident manager and cook.

15 minutes’ walk to Tangalle Beach one of the safest beaches in the world and Restaurants, Banks, Super-Markets and the city are just 10 minutes’ walk away.

The villa is furnished with the original antiques some are over 200 years old and the modern furniture to accommodate the guests the most comfortable way. Out of five rooms four are air-conditioned. Villa has five modern bathrooms and two of them are open to sky.

This villa can accommodate 14 guests comfortably.

Our infinity swimming pool will be completed in the near future and we recommend our guests to explore Tangalle Beach and the Sea which is just 15 minutes’ walk away for sea bathing and water activities. Tangalle beach is one of the safest beaches in the world surrounded by a coral-reef making a natural pool for both adults and small children.

Due to its central location, Thamaya Heritance would be the best accommodation to stay and visit most of major attractions in the southern part of Sri Lanka avoiding the hassle of changing accommodation frequently.

Thamaya Heritance will be your home away from home during your stay. The ambience of simplicity and old world charm is complemented by comfortable rooms with en-suite bathrooms, spacious living and dining areas, extra-large garden, home cooked food and friendly staff who will do their best to make you and your family as comfortable as possible.

The use of bed linen, towels and toiletries are included for your stay. For your added comfort mosquito nets and ceiling fans are provided in all rooms while traditional cane blinds (bata palali) are used extensively for shade in open verandas.

Out of five rooms, four are air-conditioned.
Solar heated hot water is available on taps.

At table, you will be served with high quality crockery, glassware and cutlery. Wi-Fi is available free-of-charge if you need to connect with the outside world. The rooms are equipped with Cable TV connections and a DVD player with a selection of movies for your enjoyment.

The villa is also equipped with a few board games including Monopoly, Play cards and Carrom, to while away those occasional wet afternoons.

Any special needs such as wake up calls, arranging a Tuk Tuk, laundry etc can be provided on request.

To respect your privacy, cleaning and tidying of guest accommodation and bathrooms will only be performed on request. Otherwise staff will not access guest accommodation, except for specific urgent maintenance work, with guest permission.

Villa Manager will be available on-site to help you 24X7.

You can order your meals at a reasonable rate. Delicious meals are prepared by the resident cook on a traditional wood-fired hearth + gas burners. You could select your meals from the menu card or bring provisions and ask the cook to prepare the meals according to your specifications.

If you wish to have a self-catering facility, we have a separate kitchen/pantry to serve you better. Also, plenty of restaurants are available within 10 minutes’ walk away.
