The Hotel is a grand building but whilst the staff did their best to provide a good service, the overall feeling was one of cost cutting being in place. The continental breakfast has been replaced by a 'High Breakfast' where every bit of food provided was in controlled portions.
Staff appeared to be under pressure and to not be able to enjoy their job which suggests to me some management issues. Despite that two of the main reception staff were excellent and one of the breakfast waiters provided a good service. The impression is that the hotel prefers to host events and functions as opposed to having paying guests.
