Peaceful cabin w/ pond and babbling creek off the beaten path

This is a great place to get away and relax with the family. In the summer; there are fishing poles for the kids to fish in the pond, a playhouse, and a couple of kids and adult mountain bikes to ride. There is a deck and a fire pit for sitting around and laughing and telling stories, oh, and also for tasty smores. In the fall; we are close to hunting and have places to shoot for sighting in rifles. In the winter; there is good cross county skiing, sledding, if the weather has cooperated sometimes ice skating, a gorgeous wood fireplace for ambiance and lots of windows to watch the snow fall. You can warm up next to the fire or in the hot tub after a long day of skiing at Terry Peak. Cabin has boot and glove driers to dry the skiboots. The house is about 25 min. from Terry Peak. The house sits on a well maintained gravel road,* 4 miles from Hwy 85, 15 min. to Deadwood, 20-25 min. to Sturgis and Lead and 30 min. from Spearfish. If you have any questions or needs, just ask, we are right over the hill and happy to help!

*Due to the ice on the roads in the winter, 4 wheel drive is highly recommended.

Beautiful setting. Big house. A little drive from town. A little hot in the house with the temperatures outside being hot and no central air conditioning. Also, the grill did not really work. Put out very little heat and ended up having to cook our steaks inside. Other than that, we enjoyed it thoroughly.

Beautiful peaceful setting

We enjoyed the scenic outdoor setting of this cabin a lot. The backyard pond was beautiful, and we enjoyed sitting outside to eat and relax, watching the many birds and deer roam the property. Kids enjoyed riding the bikes provided and fishing in the pond, but there didn't seem to be any fish in it. Recommend adding some chairs for comfortable use of the fire pit - we simply moved the portable fire pit to the back area from the driveway so that we could use the chairs rather than the tree stumps to sit and enjoy reading and talking around it. The cabin itself was nice and spacious but was advertised as having air conditioning, which was really just one wall unit for the entire cabin and portable fans in each room. We had nice weather most days, but you don't expect to have to move fans around trying to cool down the rooms each night to sleep when paying to stay at a nice cabin. We found the rooms to be somewhat dusty and the master bathroom had a mildewy shower curtain and faded musty towels. We ended up using the downstairs shower after a few days as it was much cleaner. We also found newer cleaner towels in the closet. The large kitchen was well stocked and wonderful to cook in. Suggest removing many of the spices and seasonings that expired 5-6 years ago and add some things like olive oil for cooking and s'mores ingredients/sticks for roasting marshmallows. Kids enjoyed the playhouse and basement. We did not use the hot tub as the water appeared cloudy. Overall a good stay

Deadwood Family Christmas

Owner very flexible, property was very clean and homey! We had a family of 14 and everyone slept very comfortable, plenty of amenities and plenty of space. We all enjoyed our stay!

Perfect cabin for quiet girls weekend

I booked this cabin to celebrate my daughter’s bachelorette party. We wanted something near deadwood, but quiet, peaceful and large enough for 8 women. This property marked all of the boxes and exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful place, big kitchen

Beautiful house with nice, big, well-stocked kitchen and big deck/porch outside. We loved the big dining table that could fit our whole group. Good options for sleeping arrangements. Our group stayed to go ATVing, so parking was a bit challenging and it's a little highway driving to get to the trails.

Wow! Family friendly retreat

We had a fantastic time at this beautiful home. We had a group of 7 adults and 7 kids, we felt so comfortable in this cabin! The basement is so great for kids of all ages, there are great sleeping spaces for a group this size! This cabin has it all, some of us didn’t go explore the town as the cabin and beautiful scenery with falling snow was more than enough!! Would definitely recommend, and book again!

Two Bit Cabin

Excellent get away location in the Black Hills. Perfect for family or friends. No cell service but starlink wifi was great and with wifi calling its super easy to get a cab into Deadwood or food delivered to the property. The hot tub was warm and inviting after ice fishing all morning. 10/10 Will be back again!

Getaway Week

First time stay here and pleasantly surprised that the property exceeded the listing. Rooms were neat and clean, kitchen fully equiped, grill fired up easily, but never had a chance to try out the hot tub. Had concerns about the road [three miles drive from the main road] but even after a thunderstorm no problem. There are a lot of deer and some wild turkeys in the area, so we took our time when driving in or out. This trip was beginning of September, so no snow. For a group of friends looking to escape the grind, the property was perfect - quiet and serene. Great mornings drinking coffee on the deck, spend the day checking out the tourist attractions [Mt Rushmore, Devils Tower, Mammoth Museum, Deadwood] and the evenings in basement gaming. Hoping to bring the family next time.

Amazing Stay!

The cabin was amazing, and we had such a great spring break family vacation! It was clean and well stocked with everything we could potentially need and more. The directions provided to the cabin were easy to follow and took us right there. The kiddos loved the hot tub, and game room in the basement. So much to do, we could have stayed at the cabin the entire time! We will definitely come back here when we are in the area again!
