Highlights: Adorable updated cabin near trails, hiking, and skiing. Great kitchen, and a living room with fireplace and projector. Cozy nooks and sitting areas - a book lovers dream!

Surrounded by dense woods, Library Lodge is the perfect place to rest, recharge, and rejuvenate. This lovely house begs for visitors to cozy up in front of the fire, read, watch movies and grill, all while cocooned in the fern carpeted woods of upper Stone Ridge. Offering the best of all worlds - a modern open, bright, layout but with plenty of nooks and crannies to snuggle under a throw and take a nap! Modern furniture mixes with antique pieces, bathrooms offering the Hygge warmth of Josef Frank wallpaper, fluffy towels and organic toiletries. The traditional wood stove lives alongside great WiFi and a large contemporary projector.

The house is split with the kitchen on one side, with updated appliances, honed counters and peninsula seating. The long dining table brings thoughts of lingering breakfasts and fun dinners, or planning sessions for trips to Woodstock and nearby Kingston. Across the hall, the large living room has two seating groups, one for chatting near the fire, the other for watching the projector. Through here is access to the screened porch, where there is additional outside dining and a BBQ grill. Summer will see the huge deck dressed again with its outdoor furniture, all making a perfect viewing platform to watch the wildlife in the woods up close.

Upstairs, all three bedrooms are roomy and sunny, and all have their own seating areas for chats and quiet moments. The bathroom on this floor has a tub / shower combo and is available to all bedrooms. The hallway has a little library area, filled with thrillers, contemporary fiction and classics.

Like all Upstate Place properties, this home has a pack n’ play, highchair, baby bath etc. available to make even the smallest guest’s stay welcoming and easy.

Library Lodge would ideally suit a family or group of friends vacationing together.

Cancellation and Insurance: We encourage all our guests to purchase travel insurance, whether through the OTA when offered at the time of booking, or through a third party. We cannot make any exceptions to our cancellation policy.

Utility Outages: As Upstate New York can see its’ fair share of inclement weather and is primarily a tree rich area with overhead power lines, please know we do not assume responsibility for utility outages during your stay. If electric, water or Wi-Fi service is impacted, we do not refund. Of course, if an outage were to persist for longer than 8 hours we would allow a cancellation without penalty.

Weather: During the winter months, there may be ice, snow, and hazardous conditions. We recommend driving a vehicle with AWD or 4WD. Please ask about the plowing schedule for the house. Most driveways are plowed at or before 3” of accumulation.

Animals and Pests: The house is in a rural environment and surrounded by countryside, farms and wildlife. Although it’s wonderful to observe the eagles, deer, bears, and adorable chipmunks, it can also mean you will hear coyotes and foxes at night, and encounter the less cute mice, flies, snakes, ants, bees and ticks. There is very little to be done about it, but by keeping doors closed or screened and food in its appropriate storage, unwelcome guests will stay outside where they belong. All our properties benefit from scheduled pest control, but we are in a natural environment and we can not fortify the houses completely.

Cleaning Guarantee: We are very proud of our housekeeping team who go above and beyond. Because of their hard work and high professional standards, we are able to guarantee our cleaning to our guests. We take time stamped video and photos of the cleaned property and do not refund for any small issues found during a stay. Instead, should a guest feel that something is amiss or needs additional attention, we will gladly have a housekeeper attend the home to take care of it within 12 hours of an issue being reported.

This home may have weekly lawn and trash services as well as monthly pest control service. Service providers may access the exterior front yard and back yard during your stay to ensure the home is properly maintained.

Rental Agreement: Please know that we require all guests to sign a rental lease agreement.

This house has two levels and may not be suitable for guests who don’t wish to use stairs. However, it does have ground/ main level bedrooms and bathrooms.

Early check-in: When available, we love to allow our guests an early check-in to get your vacation started asap! Unfortunately, during peak times, this isn’t always possible. But please ask, we will always try.

Quiet Getaway
We visit this area every year and have stayed in many places. Library Lodge was as quaint and comfortable as they come. Many comforts & amenities are provided for. Beautiful kitchen and living space. Comfortable beds and showers. A reminder as I missed it when booking, but there are no traditional TVs here but a modern projector that you can stream from in the living room only. Super simple to use but worth mentioning so you can prepare if needed. This is great to unplug and decompress, which we gladly took advantage of but if traveling with a group that wants entertainment I recommend packing laptops or iPads to connect to via the included WiFi. Most places in this area are "unplugged" but I favor cuddling up to a flick at night or streaming news in the morning which I was able to do with ease. This place is dog friendly, we did not have a dog with us but the place was spotless and cozy with little to no reminders that dogs may visit from time to time! The house is incredibly spacious and allowed us to spread out and enjoy the sights and sounds from various sitting areas in and out. Highly recommend! Enjoy!
