Built circa 1810 as a rum warehouse + proprietor's residence, and restored/renovated by 81C creator Zack Zook, the loft sits above 81C’s street level fine art gallery, event venue, and coffee + wine bar, offering unrivaled aesthetic sophistication, authentic cosmopolitan charm, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Brazilian tiger-wood, Italian Carrara marble, custom polished concrete, and historic brickwork provides guests with a contemporary yet timeless vibe of passion, creativity, and comfort.

"If we could give Zack's place "six stars" instead of five we would. Everything was beyond perfect. We were met with glass of wine and tour of small local gallery which supports local artists. Upstairs, the apartment is spacious, modern and well thought out. We were two couples and had great sleeping space and a huge living room/dining room with high ceilings. Plenty of additional sleeping space. Every detail has been considered and planned. You are a half block (right) from the waterfront and groceries, and left to all kinds of lively local nightlife. My wife and I (early 70's) stopped at one for a beer and a game of pool. On the apartment bookshelf wall there are more than 1,500 books -- each one more interesting than the next. "I recently stayed here with my husband, 9yr old daughter, and my parents and we were all IN LOVE!
I was impressed with the attention to detail that Zack laid out for us during our stay. He was always available and amazing at providing any and everything we needed or could think of for our entire stay ! Communication was A1!
It’s prime real estate and 81C is to die for !! I plan on returning to st Thomas quite often and this will be the place we always stay! Did I say how easy it was to get here ?! You can tell alot of love and care went into creating this space and that made it quite hard to leave ! Do yourself a favor and book this you will not regret it at all! -Located above the main bedroom in a loft space, Bedroom #2 is a flight of stairs up from the living room area. The loft has less headroom than the main bedroom.
