Sapphire Beach is one of the most relaxing beaches in the Caribbean. From the condo, you have a breathtaking view of the waters and the beach. Inside, you have all the comforts of a one bedroom apartment. The sleeping area can be enclosed by wooden partitions, leading into a comfortable living area with a full sized kitchen.

The resort houses two bars and two restaurants for your convenience. A quick drive to nearby Red Hook links you to ferries to the British Virgin Islands and St. John.

As advertised - beach front great experience
This was a great place to stay at. Great kitchen amenities to be able to cook and cheapen up our stay by not eating out. We stayed in three other VRBO properties during our stay on the island and this was by far the best experience of all. Will be staying here again if we ever come back to St Thomas.

My wife’s milestone birthday
We enjoyed our stay, but there are pros and cons to the property and location. Pros - great view of the water, fine dining, fast food and bars within walking distance. Swimming pool within walking distance as is the marina. Cons - limited number of dishes if you plan to cook, we had three towels and 2 wash cloths. We called and they brought 4 more of each. There is no restroom at the pool. The tennis courts are in disarray and there is really no place close to exercise. I believe this location was severely impacted by a hurricane in 2015? Some of the dishes had an oily feel to them and the air conditioning unit was leaking water inside the condo the day of our departure. The term Sapphire Beach marina and resort is bit is a stretch. The couch is old and wicker. Sorry, a few more cons than pros.

Awesome view
This condo is in an awesome location with an amazing view walking distance to some great restaurants. The AC worked great and the bathroom was nice. The only reason why I dinged this VRBO with 4 stars as opposed to 5, is because the comfort level needs some TLC. The sofa and dining are in need of a serious upgrade- very uncomfortable. The single cup coffee maker needs some help because we got a max of 2 cups per day before it stopped working and the TV in the bedroom does work very well. It also needs some glassware and some cooking utensils. Other than that it was a great condo for the money.

Spectacular View
The view was incredible. This unit looks right onto the beach and you can enjoy the sound of the waves. Unit was nicely updated and very comfortable. Easy walk to bars, gift shop and dining. I will definitely come back. Owner was incredibly helpful.

Beautiful, but problems
The listing and email stated that the door would be left open and keys on the table.. We got there and our phones had very poor signal and we were 1/2 hour before check in We asked at the office and they said there was nothing they could do. So we sat and waited. After an hour some lady came by, said her husband worked there and got us in. Our phones still weren't working but once we got in we logged in to wifi and proved that we were supposed to be there. Then, about an hour later we got an email from the owner giving us the code to the door lock. A little late. The kitchen had a mish mash of dishes, not more than 2 of anything and no spatula. There were also some bugs that were very annoying. The unit was in a beautiful location and aside from those three things was very enjoyable.

Amazing vacation, must experience
Woke up to the most beautiful view every day! The apartment was clean, communication from Michael was clear and prompt with easy instructions. The facility has 24/7 security. The pool bar was not opened and the tennis area looks abandoned but I don’t understand why people complained about that. It is no where near the apartment nor should it reflect on it. You are Literally steps from the beach. I loved the fact that the area was private and there were not a lot of people outside on the beach or at the pool. I forgot some personal belongings when we checked out. Michael was kind enough to alert me of what was left and gave me the number for his assistant Adele who did not hesitate to ship me my belongs via USPS. I appreciate the great service and honesty from you both. The location of the apartment was perfect, a 2 minute drive to red hook and centralized to everything. Will highly recommend to anyone and will definitely stay here again!!!

Beautiful property with an amazing view!! Woke up in paradise every morning. The unit was exactly as pictured, and very clean. Bed slept great and was very comfortable. Quick response from owner when a minor issue arose. Our 30th anniversary trip was a huge success. We have already recommended this property to several friends!!

Wonderful Sunrise & Ocean Breeze at night!
The property is just as described. My wife and I enjoyed the sunrise every morning with coffee, then ended the evening with the sounds of the ocean. Close to the pool, beach and marina. Resort bar and coffee shop is a quick walk on the beach away. This was our first trip to St Thomas and we will be back next year. This particular unit allows an unobstructed view of the ocean. Check in and check out was exactly as described in an email from the property owner. Word of advice, find a local taxi driver and get contact number. Only ride in actual taxi's. Food Center is less expensive than Moe's. Sudi's is just up the hill, great food and great atmosphere. Check the hours of operation for Sudi's and the beach bar when you arrive to plan. Night life in Red Hook is interesting, go as a group and keep an eye on each other. Security is there, but don't plan on them helping.

Sapphire Beach Estate Smith Bay Resort
The check in process would have been nice if it went according to the email checking in plan where the door would be open and the key on the table but the combination locked door wasn't open and there was not an office to report to. I wound up going to the bar which was closing at 4, when I got there, and they told me the office was one of the rooms in the hotel. The attendants didn't know how to get in so they told me to call the maid and she would let me in my room. All she did was give me the combination to the door so I could get in. There are very few places to eat at the resort which would be tolerable but there is nothing more than hamburgers. You need to travel to Red Hook which is a 10 min. drive away for anything more such as Seafood meals and if you want crab legs you will need to go to Charolette Amalie, another 20-30min. drive away. The people were friendly and speak to you but some of the staff wouldn't really acknowledge you so it was difficult to get served some times.

Amazing views for 10 days.
Condo was awesome. We woke up to the most amazing view every morning and enjoyed our coffee on the deck that looks exactly as pictured. We had an issue with seaweed a few days. Staff at the resort was out at the beach every morning cleaning it up. Some days there were no issues at all. The days it was there we had to deal with mosquito type bugs biting us at night which prevented us from enjoying the deck at night. I only note it because had we known we would’ve just gotten bug spray the first time we went grocery shopping. Overall, condo was great and had everything we need. Would definitely recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed the property. Amazing beach front views. The rest of the resort could use some TLC. Location was great with a taxi stand on premise to get you around the island. The ferry to St John a short drive to Red Hook. Perfect vacation for the wife and I to celebrate. Can’t wait to come back again with the kids.
