Cocoplum was designed to be true to the classic Bahamian style of architecture bordered with a large porch and topped with dormer windows to maximize shade and cross ventilation. Construction was completed in 2013 with Bamboo floors throughout. The house is elevated, which affords unmatched views of the island from its hilltop perch and captures the tropical breezes. However, if in the summer months the warm climate becomes too much, Cocoplum can also easily be cooled with the press of a button on the whisper quiet mini-split air-conditioners. The interior is decorated in soothing tones with minimal, but very comfortable furniture for an uncluttered and calm feel. The kitchen is a chef's dream with all modern appliances, lots of counter space, an island with seating for four and an open plan that flows into the oasis of the living room. The 12-foot deep porch is probably where you will spend most of your time lounging on the outdoor furniture, enjoying the breeze and watching the boats go by in the harbour below, or eating something hot off the grill conveniently located adjacent to the large dining table. The master bedroom and bathroom are downstairs and are truly luxurious. There is a queen size bed and lots of closet space, large windows seem to bring the outdoors in and elegant plantation shutters filter the rays of natural light streaming through as the setting sun paints this west facing room in its many hues. The master bathroom sports his and her sinks and the option of a lavish soak in the claw-footed tub, or a shower in the stall unit. Upstairs, there is another spacious, western facing bedroom with a queen size bed, a crib (as well as a pack and play if needed) and a large closet as well as a smaller bedroom with two single beds. The upstairs bathroom has an all-in-one shower and tub unit, toilet and a large sink. The full size washer and dryer are tucked conveniently under the stairs behind bi-fold doors. The carefully landscaped garden is growing in nicely with tropical planted flowers and palms and also boasts mature, native fruit trees which bear seasonally. There is a large space under the house in which to park your golf-cart, (if you rent one), in the shade and hang your swimwear and towels up to dry after an invigorating, post-beach rinse in the outdoor shower. Please enjoy the use of the two bicycles to go sight-seeing and get some exercise.
