"I booked this stay to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday, in which she wanted nothing more than a big family reunion. It was such a beautiful property with amazing amenities. We were lucky with good weather in November to kayak on the lake. Everyone was so pleased with the stay and it was exactly what my mom wanted for her birthday. The kitchen was well stocked (altho probably could use a clean out to get rid of long ago expired items. The only down side was with the showers. The house is advertised as sleeping 14 but you can only use one shower at once as there is not enough water preasure to use both showers at once. "Wonderful weekend at a wonderful property! We wanted to escape for some peace and quiet, just the 4 of us, and Blue Elk Lodge delivered! Spacious kitchen/common area, very comfortable beds and linens, and everything we could need or ask for! "My kids (20,13 & 11) and I come this way once a year (a 9 hr drive), for our favorite antique book stores, but this year we chose this particular hotel because it was closer to their favorite burger place…*Insert eye-roll* I’m glad we did though. I will say that the turn onto the road in is a little wonky, and I passed it the first time.
