Shenandoah River waterfront picnic lot is included with rental however, the house is NOT waterfront. Riverfront lot is 1 mile drive from driveway entrance. The cabin is nestled in a hollow on 35 acres of private mountainside. Follow the winding driveway through a railroad tunnel to reach Fox Creek Lodge.

The lodge features an open living and dining concept. Dining table seats 8 and can accommodate additional pulled up chairs. There is also a bar top with 3 stools, mini drink refrigerator and wine cooler. 2.5 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms sleeping 10. Additional sleeping arrangements are possible with pull-out sofa. There are baby gates and a Pack 'n Play for your use while staying at Fox Creek Lodge. Enjoy the decks & balcony overlooking the seasonal pond and railroad tracks. Seeing the train pass is a unique site! The train does not whistle but you can feel its power as it comes down the tracks! Backyard offers a Gazebo to relax and space to play yard games such as Corn-hole, Frisbee, Croquet and Foosball which are a few of the entertainment items available at the property. Hot tub adjacent to the Gazebo. Pets are welcome for a fee so just let us know if your fur babies will be joining you.

We are centrally located just 15 miles from Massanutten Ski & Indoor/Outdoor Water Park Resort and historic Luray featuring Luray Caverns, the most popular cave in Eastern America. The Shenandoah National Park offers breathtaking views from Skyline Drive (Swift Run Gap access point only 17 miles away) and various distance trail hikes to waterfalls and beautiful scenery. There are many wineries and breweries close by as well as outdoor activity companies to help with river tubing, canoeing and fishing.

We furnish all linens, bathroom essentials, cleaning supplies, starter rolls of paper products, firewood to get you started (you can purchase more at the property forage the 35 acres), Propane gas, spice rack & some condiments as well as other kitchen items. Our beds are made with our linens prior to your arrival. Our maintenance and cleaning team are available if needed.

We had the Most Amazing Times!!!! The property is Gorgeous and a Perfect place for spending peaceful quality time together. The house was extremely well appointed especially the kitchen. We forged the wood for firewood and hiked all of the 35 acres. We had fondue night in the gazebo out back which was super nice. The best Star Gazing we’ve ever done due to no light pollution. We hope to come back because everything about the property was 100% on point.

An intriguing house in a beautiful setting
A group of old friends gathered here to mark our 60 birthdays. The kitchen was wonderfully organized and spacious for group cooking projects. There are three great spaces to gather together for conversation, and the river lot was wonderful for a cool dip and picnic. The sleeping quarters include two beds in a loft that wasn't comfortably accessible for 60-year-olds, so look carefully at the layout before planning your sleeping arrangements. Hosts were responsive and helpful with our questions. Great place!

Amazing Property
This property is beautiful! It’s private and had a TON of stuff to do for every age! We hiked, explored, fished, and played a lot of cornhole! The house was clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need! The host was super nice and communication was excellent! Definitely would love to go back when it’s warmer to do the river float! Thank you for the memories Fox Creek!

Wonderful Stay, Highly Recommended
We had a wonderful stay. The cabin is spacious and has a wonderful common area. We loved staying up talking by the fire and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes and pots. We had a really lovely visit and I hope we can come back again.

Love Fox Creek Lodge!
This is our second time staying with Fox Creek Lodge and we enjoyed it thoroughly. This year we were able to use the nice outdoor pavilion as well as enjoyed a couple hours at the riverside location. This lodge suited our needs perfectly.

Annual pre-holiday getaway
Overall we had a great time! The downstairs area is cozy and the kitchen was extremely well appointed! We loved the remote location and the kids had a great time exploring. Two of the rooms were much smaller than expected but we made it work. The kids loved the loft, as it gave them their own space. Overall, it was a great trip and we enjoyed our stay. The owners were very nice and quick to respond with any questions we had, which was truly appreciated. Thank you!

Relaxing Mountain Getaway
We had a perfect weekend of relaxation with our adult children at your pet friendly mountain retreat. Short stay
Overall we enjoyed our 1 night. House is roomy, clean and have everything you need to cook. I didn’t know that the house has no central heater and it has to be a cold night when temp dropped in the 30’ so that was a little disappointed. Nice fireplace with woods provided was helpful but not enough to keep the house warm thru the 9. I love that pet friendly but the house is surrounded by wood and we saw foxes running around so if you have tiny dogs don’t let them out unattended. Get to the house was going thru a long small road and a shark left on a up high hill which a little tricky so be aware. One of our car got stuck in the ditch and took us over an hour to get it out. Overall I would stay again if we take a longer trip.

This was my 4th time staying at Fox Creek. It simply is the perfect getaway . The owners are very friendly and helpful . The house is perfect for bigger groups . The kitchen is amazing well stocked !! You can just sit back and relax by the fire pit or go on a walk through the trails . Or you can go into town , just a short scenic drive .

Secluded mountain retreat
Fox Creek Lodge is in a great location - wooded trails for walks, river access for water fun. All ages enjoyed our stay. Short drive to local towns and attractions. The hosts have thoughtfully provided many of the essentials you need and are easy to contact if needed. Would definitely recommend a stay here for nature lovers or anyone who wants to unplug and enjoy some peace and quiet. A week was not long enough to explore the property or surrounding area!

Great holiday getaway!
We really enjoyed our time at Foxcreek! The cabin was well-stocked and the property was fun to explore. The kids loved watching the train come by so often! My 4-year-old braved the ladder to the loft beds after the second night and insisted on sleeping up there the rest of the week. I also appreciate that one of the beds in the kids’ room has all-around rails, so I knew my 2-year-old wouldn’t fall out of the “big kid bed.” The riverfront access was a divine respite from the hot summer sun, especially after kayaking down the river. We found so many places to explore from Harrisonburg to Luray.

Our family of 7 had a wonderful time at the cabin. We enjoyed the many walking trails on the property, fire pit, and fully stocked kitchen. We also loved the river site, where we launched our kayaks, fished, grilled and just relaxed. Hosts were very responsive and helpful..

Graduation Stay
Fox Creek was an awesome experience! We loved walking the property trails and exploring the area. The lodge was stocked with everything we needed and was very clean. Owners were every helpful with finding places to eat in the valley and anything else we needed. We loved our stay and will be returning in the future!
