Peace and tranquility

Family Mountain Get Away
The property was definitely big enough for the 11 of us. The house wasn't as clean as it could of been I guess a previous guest had a white haired dog and there was lots of dog hair everywhere. The kitchen wasn't well stocked as we like to cook on our get aways and there was no grater and no measuring cups. There was new construction across the street and that made for a very muddy mess on our side of the road. They also cut our power off on Monday but, at least they let us know. All and all we were satisfied once they brought the vacuum cleaner for me to use. We had little ones that we had on the floor.

Family vacation
Communication with the host up until our stay was good. The location was easy to get to and the area was beautiful. Upon arriving at the cabin everything looked the be mostly as pictured. One thing we noticed right away was that 3 bedrooms were missing tvs. The VRBO listing showed pictures of each room, but the tvs had been removed. We messaged the host and received the response “we are in the process of upgrading. Sorry for the inconvenience..” Though this may seem minor to some, due to traveling 9 hours and being in the middle of the storm from hurricane Helene we at least needed some relaxation in our respective rooms. This VRBO was chosen specifically based on a bedroom space, bathrooms available, and tvs in bedrooms. After reaching out to VRBO the host did offer to give us a 10% discount which was very kind. Not long after this agreement, one of us went to shower in one of the lower level bathrooms, and was shocked to find over 50+ flesh flies. This was quite alarming and disgusting. I’m not sure if something died behind the walls in the bathroom or what, but not one of us felt comfortable sleeping in the lower level. I will add that I slept in the upstairs queen loft and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The pans for cooking in the kitchen were only 3 small sauce pans. So you may need to bring your own. After the flies were found we requested a full refund and the host agreed to do so which was much appreciated.

Family getaway
Views were amazing. Neighborhood quite but could use a common area with grass as there was zero options around this cabin to walk a dog without using another cabins grassy area for them to do their business. Also, on a very steep grade hill you have to climb, and I like a challenge and am in decent shape, but it got a little old. The cabin had a good cabin feel and deck was roomy with plenty of seating. Arcade didn't turn on, but my brother got it working. Jacuzzi didn't work but hot tub did. Bring extra toiletries and towels. The cabin on very steep grade hill and I couldn't see over my hood for a brief moment, so definitely not for the faint of heart. I don't think there are as many TV's as I saw in the pics but didn't check as we were out most of the time. Little updates could be made like adding a bigger skillet, extra kitchen towel, making sure hardware fixtures are not loose.

Wonderful stay
Hosts were great! Attentive but not enough to be bothersome. They even sent our group some treats & extra toiletries! That just blew us away! As we wrapped up to leave which was an easy process my Uncle said how blessed we were to have stayed here together & have such awesome memories! Cabin was beautiful! Hot tub was actually hot & clean. Space was great for all of us. Not to mention we all loved our beds which never seems to happen!

Beautiful home and location
The cabin its self was beautiful as well as the location. Had some issues with the tvs sent someone out to fix them. Only complaint was the air conditioning turned itself back up randomly so we got hot through the night. The cabin was beautiful and in a beautiful location. Would stay there again if we were ever in the area. The owner was quick to respond to any questions we had.

Great spot with a great view!
If you’re wanting to stay just a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist, but close enough! This is your place! Tucked away in the woods with an amazing view of the Smoky Mountains off the wrap around deck. Plenty of space to spread out your things and relax! Our only concern is that there was very limited space to walk a pet if needed! Very nice! Would book again for sure!

Disappointed
The house was beautiful. We could not get the TV or the Internet working properly. We only had one TV that was working the entire stay. I contacted the property manager and she supposedly sent someone over when we weren’t home and said that the TVs were working. When I got back to the cabin, they were still inoperable. I contacted her again and got no response so we ended up leaving a day early. I was very unhappy with my stay.

The best time ever! Jane was a wonderful host!
We last minute had to get a Vrbo on our trip to Tennessee, Jane accommodated her beautiful cabin for my family to stay in. We got there a bit early and she let us in through her phone system. We were surprised to see three levels of beautifully decorated cabin. My son had the whole top floor to himself and my daughter at the bottom floor to herself and my husband and I had the level floor. That plays could sleep about 12 to 15 people that we only had it four and it was nice to spread out. We communicated with Jane the whole time and she was very responsive. We will definitely be coming back again. Thank you so much for a wonderful day and a wonderful experience.

Disappointed
Don’t be fooled by the pictures! While the bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and spacious for our family, the common areas were tiny and the furniture was made for an office, not a vacation house. Lighting was horrible and seating was minimal. The basement playroom was small and hardly fit our 4 small grandchildren. The “driveway” hardly held 3 cars and the house is sitting high on a hill with no barriers. We had to barricade the kids on the porch to keep them from falling down the hill. There is no yard or walkability anywhere near the house. It is truly on a hilltop. There were weeds and trash all up and down the street with construction noise and debris and litter everywhere. It is obvious this house and neighborhood are not cared for. There was a stackable washer/drier in the driveway, broken rocker (only 4 rockers) on the porch entry, and screens half torn off the sliding door on the deck. We’ve stayed in many VRBO homes and this one rates the worst.

This is a new, cabin with four well appointed bedrooms and attached baths. The premises was spotless. We had great stay. It was comfortable and quiet. Ideal for adults. The manager ,Jane was very easy to contact and was available the minute we contacted her to get help opening the front door. She graciously accepted all my requests. as well!

Brand new, spacious mtn home good for large groups
Hilltop is a beautiful home with a responsive property manager and the potential to be a 5-star rental. It's brand new with a nice view, a hot tub, a decently-stocked kitchen, plenty of space inside and out, and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The description is accurate and our multi-generational family each had our own floor and enjoyed time together and apart while visiting Dollywood and the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area - about 15-20 minutes away while being nestled up high amongst other new mtn houses. The property manager was immediately responsive when we had an issue with the access code and helpful in shipping us our stuff when we left some clothes in the dryer. I would recommend arriving during daylight if at all possible as it can be a little tricky to find and the house numbers aren't easy to see, but with support from Waze we didn't have an issue. My reason for 4 vs 5 stars is that it felt like there were a few things missing for it to really be a luxury cabin experience and price for a large group - some of which may be due to it being new and still being furnished. For example - while lots of space and plenty of TVs, there is nowhere for everyone to sit together comfortably. the main floor living room only has one couch - we pulled over a few hard chairs and stools from the kitchen area and put cushions on the floor, but we wished there was more seating, esp as there is room for it - the only bedroom with a dresser/chest of drawers is upstairs in the loft. The main floor bedroom had a closet and spacious bathroom but not chest. The downstairs bedrooms had no closets, dressers, or anywhere to unpack clothes or belongings. Even a luggage rack or some basic shelving would be helpful in all rooms, esp in the bedrooms without closets - The towels were fine but were limited (especially if you plan to use the hot tub) and not exactly plush - the TV in the main floor bedroom was not hooked up and could not be used - minor, but we always appreciate a welcoming book that includes the important details about the home and policies as well as recommendations for local restaurants, hikes, attractions, etc. Yes, all of this is available quite easily online, and check in and check out information was communicated in timely manner over email, but it's still a nice touch, especially when you have multiple generations with various tech skills and access Overall I do highly recommend Hilltop if you are seeking to visit the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area
