A Generac whole-house generator keeps the cabin running when the local power is out. It is all automatic so no need to do anything. Highland Koselig Lodge is on top of a Smoky Mountain ridge with an amazing view! Elevator to all 3 floor, 3 enclosed king bedrooms, 1 bunk room with a curtain, 1 double bed in a nook with curtain, 2 futons in the loft with linens in the closet, a queen sleeper sofa (linens close) in the lower-level game room with Pool Table/Ping Pong, HOT TUB, corn hole and Foosball at this level. In the gated community of Shagbark off Wears Valley Road. Four bathrooms, 3 with walk-in showers, main floor master bath handicap assessable.
There is a well-equipped kitchen. You will find both Keurig and Mr. Coffee style coffee pots, some k-cup pods in different flavors, creamer pods, sugar and sweetener packets, also some snacks to start your stay. There is a basket of beach towels for the hot tub, hand pump soap at each sink, small soap packages, paper towels. 2 new toilet paper in each bathroom, dish soap, and dishwasher pods.
Shagbark is a 1300 acre animal sanctuary resort with forests, creeks and mountain views in the Smoky Mountains. Enjoy the Community swimming pool Memorial Day to Labor Day, tennis court, Basketball goal, Pickel Ball by the pool and frisbee golf, cornhole game, playground and creek with minnows and crayfish in a meadow area between the Security gate and Community Center. Shagbark is an animal sanctuary where you might see bears, wild turkey, possums and racoons only minutes from Gatlinburg, the Smoky Mountain National Park or Pigeon Forge. This cabin is in a very private setting - a Smoky Mountain High.

This place was just amazing! The views of the mountains were incredible and the house was the cleanest of any VRBO properties that we've stayed in. The area was very accessible to groceries and going to Dollywood. We parked at Patriot Park, caught the trolley from Patriot Park which put us at the Dollywood gates. It was perfect. I highly recommend the property.

Family Mountain Getaway
Our family group of 12 (grandparents to age 2) was comfortably accommodated in this beautiful, spacious cabin. The only downside is an initially very intimidating drive to access the property but we made the adjustment! We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic View on top of the Mountain
We enjoyed our stay and the view from the top of the smokies was beautiful. We were a group of 10 and had more than enough room for everyone to have privacy. The elevator was a very welcome extra as we had elderly family that was not hindered by any stairs. We would highly recommend this property for a large family group.

Sevierville Cabin
We came in 3 cars for 3 nights. The mountain views were beautiful right off the main deck and living/dining area. The place was very clean and accommodating. We had a wonderful time. The drive from Sevierville to the cabin was treacherous. Very narrow, winding roads with places where the driver could not see the road. The short distance took a long time to navigate safely. We only went out once a day and made sure we traveled only in the light of day.

Stunning cabin!
This cabin lives up to everything it says it is and more. The views are breathtaking, and there is plenty of room for a large group (we had 11). It is the perfect place for a family getaway. A couple of words of caution (Cathy is great about telling you this, so listen to her): all-wheel drive vehicles work best getting in and out. Get in before sunset - there are some bad curves and steep drops getting to the property. Follow Cathy's directions to the cabin - do not rely on GPS. If you plan to cook most of the time you are there (like us), be sure to get most everything you need. There is a great coffee selection and a few snacks, but you will need spices and whatever you need to cook. There is a grocery store about 20-30 minutes away. We would totally stay at this beautiful cabin again!

Smoky Mountain Vacay
Loved the house. The drive up to the house caused some white knuckles but once there, it’s just perfect! The elevator was awesome as one of our party uses a mobility scooter, so he was able to get to all 3 floors. We enjoyed our time in the mountains and would definitely return to this rental!

Not a great experience !!!
The check-in process is horrible. We reached the Shabark gate after 2 hours (around 6 PM) from the actual check-in time, but our details were not in the system, and we waited outside the gate with kids in rain. No proper network to reach out to the agent, but after a long struggle we found a network to connect. There is no proper sign to reach the destination, a sign says " dead end no turn back" That is where we need to take a left turn. Horrible experience together. Not sure why property manager not given the details till last min :(

The view was amazing
Getting to the house was an adventure especially the first time but well worth it. Get what you need while in town, you won't want to make extra trips but once you get there no reason to leave. Cathy was easy to community with. The view breathe taking, plenty of room, ages 11 to 67 and we laughed and shared memories old and made new memories though share in the years to come. Thanks

Roads Terrible
The travel from town up to the home was terrible. We actually had nightmares about leaving the house to go anywhere. The house was clean, beautiful, and more than we expected. The house was perfect for our family but the location really was a nightmare. In the fog, you couldn't even see if you were on the road or going off into a ravine. Going up or going down really didn't matter it was scaryyyyyyy.......

The Cabin was nice. Wish we would have known it was on the top of the mountain though. Cathy was awesome with getting us the things we needed to get the ice off the road so we could drive up to the house. Family had fun and enjoyed the view and snow! We will be back!

Amazing Views
The while experience was great! From booking and owners responses to the experience of the cabin! We had trouble couples and 6 singles staying at the cabin and had 9 family members come visit (2 were kids) and still enough room for us all. We had bears visit us everyday and the owners even called us to warn us of their presence. There are a lot of winding roads and some very beautiful sites but don't take your eyes off the road or you may regret that. The worst part were all the stairs to the different levels of the cabin (but I'm getting old) and if that was the worst then we had an amazing time in a beautiful cabin in a wonderful place. We didn't use the pool or the other amenities as they were not within walking distance for us. Thank you so much.

can't beat the view in the hot tub! comfy beds, plenty of places to sleep, heck of drive to get to it but totally worth it. just make sure you have a strong car! felt remote, without being inaccessible. fully equipped kitchen. wouldn't change anything!

Easter Family Vacation
It was A very pleasant stay. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. The only thing was that we didn't realize the hills we had to travel to get to the house and the stairs were very difficult to climb for two of our family mbers.... knee and hip problems but overall we loved it! Fantastic scenery

Lots of room and spectacular views.
Great cabin for a large family or multiple couples. Plenty of sleeping spots and bathrooms which was great. Love the cabin/ lodge feel inside and the huge fireplace. Kids loved all the games and old vhs movies that were there.
