"The home was great for our family of 9. All bedrooms having a bathroom was a plus. The kitchen provided everything we needed when cooking our meals. The dining room and living room were great for gathering. We were there during a heat wave and opening the windows and using the fans provided cooled the house down quickly and was very comfortable. We very much enjoyed staying in this historic home. Host Michele stayed in touch during our stay and was very helpful."

"We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the farm on top of a hill. The view is unforgettable. The horse next door is friendly too. Very stylish and new. Comfortable beds. Every detail was well thought out from the kitchen organization to the stocked coffee area. This was home base for everything Humboldt could offer, including beaches, redwoods, and good Pizza in Eureka. We will be back for sure!"

"I liked it a lot. No complaints really. It's beautiful. The house was clean and very close to the beach and Gils Restaurant. The only complaint was that we could not watch TV much in the evenings because the connection was not the best. Every time we watched a movie, it would lose connectivity, and we never did get see a whole movie. But other than that, we had a fabulous time."

"Beautiful setting. Room was very hot with no a/c but they did have a refreshing pool to jump into and ceiling fans. It is the most i have ever paid for a room but convenient setting for the Redwoods."

"I injured my knee the evening before I was to drive up to King Salmon, so was unable to enjoy Shell Cottage, and too late for any refund! I had stayed previously however, and it was lovely; hence my desire to return."

"Stayed here for a week in the summer with the family. Location is pretty good. Quiet little street with a partial view of the bay. House is nice, clean and functional. Short drive to old town Eureka and Arcata where the fun/interesting stuff is. Great hub to visit surrounding redwoods, lagoons, nature around here. Very convenient to the zoo/sky walk which the kids loved. "

"Great location with easy walk to the charming main street of Ferndale. Such a wonderful home for a family stay! Fully equipped with anything and everything you would need for your visit. Great spaces for relaxation, conversation, cooking meals together....I could go on and on about this property. The downstairs ensuite bathroom was incredible and so tastefully done as was the rest of the home. The size of the kitchen and it's workspace was unreal....this place will make you wish you didn't...

"The location was great, Amy the host was very accessible. The house is very spacious and comfortable, equipped with extra supplies in the pantry and for cleaning up if needed. Very quiet and relaxing neighborhood. We went for our sons graduation at Val poly Humboldt, and couldn’t ask for a better place to stay! I would definitely book again if I find myself in that area again."
