Radisson is quite literally dead to me after this - I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels, but never one that refused to give me the room I already paid for. After a 4-hour flight delay (no chance to call mid-air), we arrived at the Radisson around 2 AM. I handed over my info to the lone night clerk, who doesn’t say a word but starts clicking away. After a few minutes of literal silence, I asked if there was a problem. That’s when he hit me with: “It’s past midnight. I can’t give you a room because the system won’t let me issue a key.”
Umm… okay? I will just book a new room and sort it out in the morning, right? Wrong. This man looks at me and has the audacity to point me in the direction of a sign that says check-in is at 3 PM. Cool—then just give me the room I already paid for? NOPE. At this point, I’m exhausted, sobbing, and realizing that nothing in this city is open past like 6 PM.
But don't worry everyone, this man “helpfully” sent us to his so-called sister hotel, which was clearly his buddy’s roach motel (they were on the phone the whole time). This place was disgusting. Baby roaches crawling out of the outlet. And the best part? They kindly worked out a deal just for me, this roach-infested motel will only charge me the exact same Radisson rate ... And to add salt to the wound, I called Radisson to see if they could figure out what this clerk couldn’t, but they hung up on me. Twice.
