"We found the cottage to be very comfortable and well equipped. Great walks direct from the front door especially to The Cove for a very enjoyable early dinner. We all agreed it is one of the nicest places we have stayed in. We would love to return in the summer to really explore the area and see the views on sunny days."

"Beautiful! Clean, bright, equipped with everything you could need, very secure, we have a dog, a beautiful vase of fresh flowers from their garden and a very nice welcome pack, especially the decadent chocolate cake! Across the road was an ideal open space to walk Fraser and all the nearby towns easy to get to, ie Rye, Hastings and Battle to name a few. It’s a lovely area to explore and the cottage a wonderful find, thank you"

"We stayed here for a weekend, to attend a wedding nearby - two adults and two children (aged 5 & 9). The configuration of the apartment was perfect: there are two double beds on the top floor, all kind of in the same room but separated by a wall (it makes sense once you see it), which was perfect for us. "Carol was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome upon arrival. We got to pat one of her adorable dogs and see cute sheep out the window every day. Lovely place to stay if you like quiet and a rural location! Some of the roads close to the cottage are one way just to bare in mind and we had deer crossing where the woods are one night (which we were very excited to see!), so please drive carefully. Cottage was nicely decorated and comfortable, and with a smart TV which was an added bonus!...

"We stayed in the barn at the end of the driveway. It has its own private patio and use of the grounds and pool. The barn itself was clean and well equipped with views across the countryside. The check-in was non-contact which is perfect for me as I'm clinically vulnerable. The welcome box was a nice touch. A perfect, peaceful place to relax while visiting family in the area. "

"This is a great alternative to a city centre hotel, the cottage is very clean, quiet and within a short walk to all the attractions of Canterbury. I stayed with my wife and 2 children and we had all we needed for the weekend. Lindsay was a great host and communication was quick. "We stayed for four nights in June and were delighted with the facilities provided. One king size bedroom, one double bedroom and a small room suitable for a child (we brought our own crib for the baby). Small details like the stair gate and a few toys helped too. The patio furniture was well used as we had glorious weather. Staplecross is well placed for exploring Rye. Hastings, local vineyards and National Trust properties. We would like to return next year!"

"The whole family loved the pool and enjoyed the tennis court. Using the cottages for 4 people means that 2 people in the attic look down on the 2 below. The Wi-Fi in Oast did not work. We said this but it was not made good as promised. (This is trivial) The family loved it and would book again. The online listing did not say how good the pool is."

"We booked Mary's wonderful house for a weekend away in December for a catch up with old friends (12 of us in total). We had an amazing time and really recommend the house. It has lots of character from being an old pub called The Star and the rooms were really comfy with almost all of them having their own ensuite bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious for cooking even for 12 people and we loved the fireplace and piano in the main living room. We didn't get out much due to storms...
