The 3,500-square-foot Sun Runner is the brightest spot on the beach! The third level offers incredible views of the ocean and sunrises, and the sound offers beautiful sunset views. The third floor has been renovated and offers a great room with cathedral ceilings, new flooring, a half bath, and a comfy resort living room with a 55-inch LCD SmartTV with Netflix streaming . The brand new full kitchen has new cabinets, new granite countertops, new appliances, a breakfast island, tile floors, and an oceanfront dining area. Wide furnished decks are on all levels. The third-floor first bedroom is an oceanfront main bedroom with a king-size bed, a 32-inch LCD TV, a full bath, and sun deck access. Level two offers an oceanfront main bedroom featuring a king bed, a 32-inch LCD TV, a full bath, and deck access. The third bedroom is oceanfront with a twin-over-double bunk bed, one twin bed, and an LCD TV. This bedroom shares a bathroom with the fourth bedroom, which features a queen bed, an LCD TV, and an oceanfront deck. The fifth bedroom features a king bed, an LCD TV, a full bathroom, and deck access.

The ground floor has a game room with a pool table, a 32-inch LCD TV, a stereo, a kitchenette equipped with a full fridge, and an outside deck with a private hot tub. The theater room features a 65-inch LCD SmartTV with Netflix streaming, and seating for seven guests. The sixth bedroom is oceanfront with a twin-over-double bed, an LCD TV, and a full bathroom shared with the game room. The seventh bedroom features a twin-over-double bedroom, an LCD TV, and a bathroom shared with the game room. The laundry room is convenient to all the rooms. Guests can enjoy the outside shower, beach access, and plenty of parking.

Things to Know
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.

We had no idea this property is being consumed by the ocean. The pool has been overtaken by the surf. There's not even a beach because the water comes right up to the back stairs. This house has maybe one year before it is uninhabitable.

We enjoyed our stay mostly. The property could use some refreshing and a deep clean wouldn't hurt. The floors were pretty dirty and there were alot of ants. They did send someone to spray and that helped. The house itself is in a great location and has alot of nice amenities.

This house was amazing!! My kids and husband as well as myself enjoyed this home. I watched the sun rise each morning from my bed. Everything abouth this house was a dream. Will def stay here again.

Great vacation if you can overlook the flaws and service
The house was in a great spot and overall really nice. Great movie room, pool table and common areas. The location is beautiful as it was directly on the beach with lots of parking. The major downfall was that several things needed repair or renovation. ( broken dishwasher, no ice from freezer, leaky faucet, running toilet, missing smoke detectors, uncovered light fixtures) We contacted Vacasa management twice during the week. The first time we were told maintenance would be coming shortly. The second time, they said they would get back to us shortly. No one ever came and we were not gotten back to. All in all, it was a good stay as it was March and we did not pay high season rates. Had we paid a lot more, we would have been much more upset about the lack of service.

We had a great time and the property was a good size for us. We loved having the pool. Issues were drains were slow and kitchen sink backed up so we called maintenance. I could never get a live person and from the time I first reported the issues until fixed was 14 hours. Steve called to let me know maintenance on the way about 1 pm. Casey came and fixed everything but it would've been nice for someone to acknowledge that they received my emails and phone calls and let me know that the message had been received and issue would be resolved. You have some nails poking out on the decks, loose ballisters on the upper deck and black mold in the upper bedroom. Not really satisfactory for the amount of $$ paid. I wouldn't rent this particular property again.

Don’t rent
Pool had 14” of sand in it. Was offered $400 for the trouble. Previous tenants had same issue and real a state company never reached out to advise us prior to coming. Pool was never usable during the stay. Hot tub hadn’t been service in past 6 month. We have hired legal counsel to deal with the lack of service.

It was nice size, and the best view of a house we have had (can see bay and ocean from top floor). Very close to ocean (30 yards). It was perfectly acceptable and we had a good time. No covered parking, but that was fine. Would not rent again for the following reasons: 1 not pet friendly, and we really wanted our one dog to come (we made special request, but declined by realty) 2. listed as vrbo, but is really Hatteras Realty (ie you are paying fees for both which was not clear) 3. the realty company did not seem to be totally organized. WE had a drain clogged and could not use kitchen and downstairs kitchen sinks. They had no "emergency services" (ie no plumber after hours); the drain backed up all over the floor on lst floor. It was not that bad and they did send someone to clean that up that evening. I guess my thought was what if it was sewage, would we all be sleeping in sewage smell all night? And the next day I was on the phone for several hours while housekeeping was unhappy that reservations called in the order, etc. And it took several visits (and it backed up onto floor a 2nd time) from different maintenance folks and was 24 hours later that we got working sink, and was resolved with cutting pipe and letting the drain water run out onto sand. It ultimately was fixed by plumber (was only 48 hours after they cut the pipe). So overall, the stay went fine. But it did not look like the support provided was adequate for a rental that costs 10k a week. To their credit they were polite by phone and the workers were nice. And we do appreciate that there can be unexpected challenges (we have had several over many years of renting a beach house)

Perfect location, perfect size, needs a few updates
Overall very happy with our stay. My family spent spring break first week of April at Sunrunner. Hatteras Realty staff was very helpful and had the house ready to go when they promised. First thing we noticed was the view! What a perfect location, right on the ocean, and from the top level you can see panoramic views of both the ocean and the sound. Pretty amazing. Plenty of room to spread out in this house, had space for all 10 adults and kids. House came with lots of amenities, including far more cooking utensils and appliances than we had been expecting. Game room was great for the kids, and the extra refrigerator and cabinet space was very useful. The beach was fantastic, and most days we had it all to ourselves. Lots of seashells to find, good sized waves for the kids, and even had several dolphins swim past in the morning. New couches in the living room, and most of the beds were surprisingly comfortable. Only a few downsides, which was throughout the stay we never got the TV's to connect to either Wifi or to Directv. This frustrated the kids more than anyone, but was still a little disappointing as the house has a movie room, and was promised to have working tv's with access to netflix or Directv. I did contact staff about this issue several times, but it was never resolved. Our first night there we noticed the oven handle was broken and hanging off, which was concerning. However upon contacting staff they had someone out the next day to fix it. Appreciated that. Biggest letdown was probably the back deck. Several boards were loose and sticking up, several nails were sticking up, and there were splinters all over the back steps. Definitely a safety hazard for the kids! Due to the pool not being open, we were able to mostly avoid this issue, and just kept the kids away. The patio furniture around the pool was broken and very dirty, but again we didn't really need it during our stay. The back grill was dirty and very corroded. Also upon entering the house the first night, there was a very strong "musty" odor throughout the house. We aired it out and this helped. All in all, I would definitely recommend this property, and will certainly be planning on returning. I'm hoping most of our issues were due to renting this early in the season, and when I brought them up to staff they were responsive and stated they would address them.

Spectacular!
We loved our vacation at the Sun Runner! The view was spectacular, with views of both the sunrise and sunset from the many decks.The distance to the beach was unbelievable. The pool, movie theater, hot tub and pool table were favorites. It was very spacious for our group of seven! Rodanthe NC is a gem. Some furniture shows signs of wear, but easy to overlook. The best part was escaping for a week with the people I love most! I highly recommend it.
