"My wife and I frequent the Texas Hill Country and look for quiet cabins in remote areas. This one was perfect for us. The cabin is well maintained, clean, and lacking in nothing. The location was remote, quiet, and literally on the river. It is hard to access the water because of the steep river bank. There is a large rope provided to stabilize your climb down and back up. Not a problem for us able-bodied old folks. Kids would love it. We found our stay to quite enjoyable and look...

"We stayed for two days with two adults and two teenagers to relax before the holidays. It was exactly what we needed and what was pictured in the listing. The property had great outdoor seating areas, view of the river, and the house was a great size for four people. It's also close to some of our favorite state parks for hiking. Would absolutely recommend and would love to come back!"

"We had a great stay at the Bunk House. The bed was very comfortable and the area quiet. The fresh eggs from the chicken coop were an added bonus. "I don't like saying bad things but the place was not clean. I had to move the couch to sweep up the food, plates, and bugs. I had to also sweep around the windows lots of bugs. The mattress cover on the pull out bed was full of hair and crumbs. I brought my sheets as stated but the previous people must have not done so. Other than that everything else was fine. The kitchen was fully stocked. Plenty of sleeping space. View was magnificent. The BBQ pit came in handy and the fire pit. Everyone...

"The house was even better than it looked in the pictures. It was obvious that effort was put into making sure we had all of the small things to make our stay perfect. Everyone was already talking about staying again in the future. "

"It was so much more than I could have imagined. The location is ideal for either GSP or LM and the amenities were excellent. We spent most of the day time at the parks, but our evenings consisted of relaxing at the getaway. Dinner on the outdoor charcoal grill was amazing and the fire pit was a perfect ambiance for the nighttime hill country. I should also mention breakfast on the stove with a light fire going outside was mint. Would definitely recommend for a secluded getaway. "

"Absolutely fell in love with this house right when we walked in. Felt like taking a step back in time. I was so surprised and happy to see the Christmas decor, really made the place feel like home. Very good location, close to stores and restaurants. We will definitely be back!!"

"The pictures do not do this place justice! It far exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Rick, the host, was great with communication and flexibility. The house was spotless and included everything we needed for our stay. The grounds were beautiful, so peaceful and relaxing. We would definitely return! "

"This property is excellent for a quick weekend getaway from the city buzz. The property sits on a huge lot with nice clean furniture. Loved the swing(s ) on the property. It is better to pack all that you need before heading to this cabin as there aren't any good convenience stores around. "

"Wonderful “cabin in the woods” experience with small airport next door. Friendly hosts. My family and I had a relaxing, lively hill country getaway. "

"Cute house outside of Leakey, close to the west fork of the frio. River is dry for the most part, but they have been going through a terrible drought. Back porch has beautiful views of the hills. Nice walking trail down to river bed. House is old and has alot of charm, but needs some repairs and updates to make the house more comfortable. "

"Stayed twice going and coming. The 1st time the lobby smelled of garlic really off putting(perhaps hard to control) , room was great, everything seemed pristine. The 2nd stay there was some dirty spots in corners of the shower. Bed was slightly firm but doable for my sensitive back. Breakfast had a good variety of options."
