Luxury Penthouse with Stunning Ocean View s

This spacious 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom condo is located in the Views of Sunset Estates in the Sunset Villas neighborhood in the heart of West End. Sunset Villas is a quiet, safe neighborhood that is a short walk from the shops, bars, restaurants, and dive shops of West End. This stunning condo is the penthouse of a 3 story building that comes complete with a rooftop patio and a swimming pool!

It is a good walk uphill (about 10 minutes though not all is uphill) and upstairs (it is on the 3rd floor but there are 5 flights of stairs to get there) but the views are worth it. If you would rather not walk, there is a scooter rental place in West End that rents for about $180/week (sometimes cheaper during slower times).

From the entrance of Sunset Villas West End Beach is a 2 minute walk, 6 minutes to Half Moon Bay Beach where the famous Sundowners Bar is located, and a less than 1o minute boat ride to West Bay Beach which is considered one of the best beaches in the Caribbean.

This fully air-conditioned condo has everything you will want including a stunning pool with ocean views; a master bedroom with a King sized bed and an en-suite bathroom; a second bedroom with a King bed; a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, cooking island, granite counter tops, and modern appliances; a washer and dryer; a large dining table perfect; and a living area with a sofa, love seat, and a HDTV with DVD and Cable. Enjoy unparalleled views of the ocean and the sunset from the balcony. The balcony also has a dining table, a gas BBQ, and a chaise lounge which is perfect for relaxing with a cold beverage after a long day at the beach. This luxurious 1600 Square Foot condo comfortably sleeps 4-5 people.

As part of our rental service, we can arrange for anything and everything you want to do while on the island. We have lived here for over 7 years and know everything about everything on Roatan. We can even stock the refrigerator with your favorite foods and drinks. What better than to have an ice cold beer waiting for you upon arrival?

The internet is unlimited high speed.

We do not include electricity in the rental price. We include an electricity allowance that covers the use of the fans, fridge, and hot water heater. Instead of charging fees for laundry and A/C, it is easier and fairer to charge for electricity instead. We read the meter at check-in and check-out and use the previous month's bill to determine the rate. We found that including electricity in the price made people want to get their money's worth by leaving the A/Cs constantly on at full blast and every light in the place on. Not only is it eco unfriendly, it meant we had to tack on an extra $400 / week to the rental rate.
We have a fantastic year round wind that comes straight through the condo if you leave the doors open. The master bedroom opens onto the balcony so you can leave the sliding glass door open and get a nice ocean breeze. The other bedrooms have screened windows that can also be left open. You might not even need A/C.

We are also an eco-friendly, green rental property. We do as much as we can to reduce our environmental footprint. We have super energy efficient ACs and hot water heaters. We use all natural, palm oil free, and organic cleaning products when possible; cut down on plastic waste; have recycling and composting available for renters; use only natural organic fertilizers in the garden, support local NGOs that work on environmental and coral reef conservation, and provide eco tips and advice for guests while they are on the island.

A Great Stay
Had a great month’s stay at this condo. The walk up the hill and stairs, like others have said, is well worth the views during the day of the sea and sunsets like no others, at night ! Very comfortable condo. Caroline and Nick were so helpful, looked after us quickly with Air Con Replacement, Safe installation, BBQ propane & water jug delivery. Can’t say enough good things about them and the condo !

We stayed here for 8 weeks, and it was clean and well equipped. It is spacious and had plenty of room for guests who visited over the holidays. The property manager, Caroline, is great. she was very responsive to any questions or minor problems we had. When something went wrong, washing machine broke, she arranged for someone to come and pick up and do our laundry until she got the machine fixed! Then she had the repair people out and got it fixed in a reasonable time. Town is a short walk away, from the front door to the middle of town was only a fifteen-minute walk.

Great month in West End!
Overall we would definitely recommend this condo and Roatan/West End. Very comfortable, great space (1800 ft and a huge balcony) and walking distance to restaurants and shops. And the views! Spectacular. It's in a nice enclave just off the main drag in West End - Sunset Villas. Felt very safe and being only a 5 walk mins from 'town' was fantastic - no need to rent a car unless you want to explore the island. Taxis are everywhere and you can take water taxis to West Bay. Despite being so close to town, the condo was quiet other than the wildlife - which included visits from macaws and yellow-naped parrots! The condo is up the hill and on the third/top floor. You have the benefit of full privacy (no one can see into your balcony). Sunsets are spectacular and there is always a great breeze. But that does mean the walk to the condo is a good workout - the hills and the stairs up. We are fairly fit and would get a bit winded from the hill but considered it our workout. The condo has two big bedrooms with king-sized beds and ensuite bathrooms. No toiletries are provided, there are bath and pool towels. Despite its appearance, the BBQ works. The kitchen has dishes, a microwave, toaster oven, toaster, blender, coffee maker, dishwasher. Drinking water is provided. The internet was great. TV has lots of English channels. It was 30 degrees everyday but we rarely used the AC other than at night in our room (but it did work well). While some of the window screens are missing, there isn't much in the way of bugs, occasionally had to escort a gecko out. The pool is small but great with loungers. The residents were lovely to talk with and super helpful with island tips. If you are here for a longer stay, the best place to get grocery's is Eldon's by the airport - get the taxi to stop on the way from the airport otherwise you are taking a cab back and it's 20 mins away. Bring cash. Not all places take credit cards. Some accept Paypal. All places take US dollars and give change in local currency. Caroline, the VRBO host, is very responsive to inquiries, both before and during our trip, and provided lots of recommendations/tips before we arrived which was much appreciated. We really appreciated that a cleaner came every Monday as we stayed for a month. My only constructive feedback is the condo is looking a bit tired and could use some freshening up. Not that it was a showstopper and it didn't take away from our trip - we would return.

Amazing and fantastic location!
Just couldn't ask for anything better. The place is absolutely huge! 2 giant bedrooms, both with king beds. Great end-to-end ventilation. We were there 9 days during both good and bad weather and didn't use the AC once. They charge for extra energy used, but we didn't go over the baseline and I think that's pretty easy. But if you want to go to the tropics and run the AC 24x7 I would look at a different option. The kitchen was huge and well appointed, everything we needed for the few meals we cooked. And we didn't cook much because the fantastic location in West End makes it easy to "walk on down" and do HH every day. Many great bars and restaurants. Thai, Italian, Argentinian, Pizza, Caribbean specialities are all available. This was Feb 2021 and everything was pretty much open. Missing all the CA snowbirds, so pretty empty compared to a previous visit. Yes, it's a bit of a walk up the hill but I really enjoyed the exercise daily and would have put on another 5 lbs without it. Incredible value for the money! Stay here!

We definitely had the views! With a balcony we could take wonderful pictures of the bay and catamarans! Beautiful place. Nice pool. We were impressed with how well the property was maintained. We were safe with a well staffed gate security. The property management will answer any questions by email very quickly. They are eco- friendly too. Just be prepared for a hill to climb up but we figured out the taxi system rapidly and paid for the ride up each day. Much cheaper than a rental. We would stay on the West End again anytime. Easy access to grocery, shops, water taxi, and excursion booking companies.

Overall we truly enjoyed the property. West end is a great area. Felt completely safe wherever we went. We didn’t end up renting a car but if you’re not up for climbing quite the hills it would probably be a good idea. Taxis were cheap and easily available however so not really a problem getting back to the property. If I had one complaint it would be the beds. A little hard for my taste but I’m rather picky on that. But I do recommend the condo. You will enjoy it. Caroline answered all of our questions and concerns via email promptly. If you don’t rent a car I would highly recommend stopping at the Eldon’s grocery store just outside of the airport on the route to the condo to stock up. The store in west bay really only carry the bare bones necessities to be kind. As there really isn’t any parking in west end that we saw I’d say you don’t need a car and I’m glad we didn’t rent one. Also bring cash. US dollars. Almost everywhere accepts credit cards but if you run out of cash there’s only one ATM in west end and it worked sporadically. There are two more ATMs just outside of west end at the gas station which BTW, was by far the most well stocked store anywhere near the condo.

Stunning Views, Great Place
This was the second stay in this condo. The first was a few years ago. We were very happy to see it was still in great shape and was being well maintained. The hill is a killer. It is about 5 minutes of uphill walking. The first few walks take some getting used to. But after that, it is fine. We just plop in the pool before heading to the condo. The condo is comfortable, clean, well stocked. The ACs are all very cold and seem quite new. The pillows, mattreses, and linens are very comfortable which is rare in a rental. My family and I are coming back for the month of May and would gladly stay again if it was available. Caroline, the property manager, was very helpful. I can't say enough about her level of customer service. The neighbors are also fantastic. That can be make or break. But the long term tenants in the place are so nice and welcoming. They are great to join for an afternoon poolside drink and pick their brains about life on Roatan.

Fantastic! Again!
This was our third trip to Roatan and our second stay in this flat. We always stay minimum a month and have not been disappointed! Caroline is a star! Anything we needed done was done quickly and without complaint! She is a fantastic and friendly property manager. As to the flat is was perfect as usual. We actually enjoy the exercise provided by the “hill” lol! We have never rented a car as it is not needed. Everything is provided for in the flat, including a/c if you want it. We did not use it often as we prefer the fresh air. Last time we stayed the pool was being redone so this time to have it available was awesome. Had a dip almost daily as it was very HOT this year. Thankfully the trade winds were in effect! Thanks tons to Caroline (for the third year in a row!) and all the neighbours in the building for yet again providing a lovely time!!!

The Views are Amazing
We loved, loved, loved this place. The views of the ocean and sunset are just fantastic. It made it hard to leave the place. It is a good uphill walk so rent a car or scooter if you don't want exercise. But we walked it and had no problems. We did get a taxi to bring us up a few evenings for $5. Totally worth it in the rain. Condo was clean, well appointed, and comfortable. I highly recommend it. The rental company, Caribbean Colors, took care of all our needs. They answered emails quickly, met us at the unit, even stocked it with beer. Best rental experience I've had so far.

Great. The condo is very big and comfortable. The sunsets and starry nights are beautiful.
Roatan is a beautiful island and the condo sits up a hill in West end. The condo almost has a panoramic view and the sunsets are the best. The condo is very large two bed two baths. It has a very large balcony and rooftop terrace just above. The unit is the top floor unit with the best view in West end. It has three AC's , cable, wifi, etc. If you have never been to Roatan , it is a must see island. It is about 40 miles long and a few miles wide. With such a large island, there is plenty to do. Diving and drinking (not together) seem to be the most popular. There are also Ziplines, golf course, buggies, quads, and lots of tourists attractions. I liked sitting and walking on West Bay beach. It has a very nice snorkle spot around a large rock formation that is too deep to stand on, ,so it remains intact. I liked Tita's pink sea horse bar, very small and peaceful. The most popular bar is Sundowners which attracts tourist and locals. Many great restaurants including Off The Hook, Gio's, and fresh seafood can be purchased all over. The unit was very nice and comfortable. It is on the top floor which about equal to a fifth floor, so the steps will tire you a little bit, but the view is worth it. The tv got over a hundred channels, but many were in spanish. I got to veiw almost all the sports I wanted. The internet is slow compared to what I am used to, but I checked my mail regularly and did my company payroll while there. The hot water heater is propane and I found if I took a short shower the temp was great, but if I took a very long shower, the temp had some variations, but really no problem. I rented a small car at the airport. Very inexpensive. This let me explore the entire island. I got to go the grand opening of the new Roatan Brewing Company and tried their new craft beers, that was fun. The weather was geat in December. We had one partial rainy day. I was expecting more, so got lucky. Overall, great island, great place to stay, and Caroline was awesome.

Spectacular views!
This spacious condo was perfect for our family for our week in beautiful Roatan! It has two large bedrooms with plenty of storage. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious as well. The views from the balcony and rooftop are breathtaking! I have seen other reviews that say a car is not needed and I somewhat disagree. The condo is within a walkable distance to town and getting there wouldn’t be bad because it’s downhill but coming back could be a challenge unless you don’t mind walking uphill in the heat. Cars, taxis and scooters are readily available and are fairly inexpensive. Be sure to check out The Oasis, Sundowners,Gingers, crazy bean and Argentinian Grill for great food and drinks! If you’re into fundraisers ask around or check the SOL website to participate in a fundraising event for the children of Roatan. They always have fun family events!

Apartamento confortable pero costoso
El lugar esta muy bien ubicado, con un poco de caminata y muy inclinada cuesta, nos acostumbramos a los escalones, hermosa vista, con todo lo que se puede necesitar nos sentimos comodos sin embargo el aire acondicionado de la habitación principal no funcionaba bien, aparte que la electricidad no estaba incluida y no entendiamos hasta donde incluida en el arrendamiento, asi que lo utilizamos poco para ahorrar y nuestra noches fueron muy calurosas solo con ventilador, la persona que nos entrego el apartamento solo hablaba inglés , y no era la propietaria , asi que por el precio pudimos obtener algo mejor!

Stunning views from every window!!
There is a little bit of deferred maintenance that I hope the owners will address. But our stay was fantastic. You have 180° views overlooking the trees towards the ocean. Every time we left or came back from the condo we were greeted by friendly neighborhood dogs. I spent many hours playing with them and wished I could take them all home and save them. The condo is a short walk to the West End less than 10 minutes . When you were returning the walk back is a steep climb. When you get to the condo entrance you were greeted by 70 steps to get to the front door. We quickly got used to the walk and look forward to it, it would not keep us from renting the condo again. We had an amazing 10 day stay and we look forward to coming back .
